SpYder RT vs. Buck - who wins.

So...coming home about 9 pm, diddybopping at the speedlimit of 65 on a 4 lane rural highway with a wide grass median. Come round a slight curve and in the fast lane (I'm in the slow lane) is a medium size buck.... walking, not running thankfully..

I get off the throttle and just as I'm about to brake, he freezes. I hit the throttle veer a tad right and motor on but OMG it was close. Had he not stopped...could been ugly.

So, guess I'm the winner.

Glad your OK! There was a post here about 6 months back of what it looked like to hit a deer square on with an RT. It was not pretty!

Again glad you got out of it!

DEER WHISTLES

i don't know if they work, but i put DEER WHISTLES on my RS....
although there are tons of deer in my area, i've never seen one while riding... so maybe they do work...

happy that things went well... had it gone in another direction, you couldn't been bucked....

i don't know if they work, but i put DEER WHISTLES on my RS....
although there are tons of deer in my area, i've never seen one while riding... so maybe they do work...

Yeah down in GA, we have to look for those deer. Glad he stayed on his side until you passed by.

Glad all worked out well for you. They were a real problem in MN and WI where I did a lot of motorcycling.

Here, it the occasional moose or bear. I had a close one with a moose on one of my last rides this year. Familiar territory, only one moose sighting in the area in eleven years--bang, there he was coming out of the woods unexpectedly, and right across the road in front of Spyder. I was able to avoid him. He was a really big one.

The written motorcycle/three wheel license test has like three different questions/scenarios on the test here in Washington state.
I remember my Wife cursing that she couldn't get the answers to the dang Deer questions right consequently she signed us up for a motorcycle three wheel safety course even though I already had my endorsement we learned a ton of good stuff and she was so excited when she passed when she got her final test score she yelled out ( I passed despite those darn Deer ) and everyone had a little laugh.

Do you issue the "special" equipment to your hunting partners?

Bacon grease or deer scented shooting vest
Deer or bear noise tape playing subliminally
