• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Motorcycle PPE

To get on base we have to have full finger gloves, long sleeves, long pants eye protection and helmet and over the ankle foot protection. After dark we also have to have a reflective vest. This applies to anyone riding a motorcycle on a military installation.

Yep, but we have to wear the reflective vest all the time....day or night.

Since I've gotten back into two-wheeling hardcore in complementing my Spyder love affair, I'm becoming more attentive to my gear deficiencies. While I've always been ATGATT, the two areas I'm definitely improving in the near future are better boots (my TCX touring boots have been great to date, but they've grown far too flexible for two-wheeling, I'm upgrading to some Sidi racing boots as soon as I can afford to) and ensuring that all my jackets and pants zip together (modifying them at the tailor if I have to).

On the Spyder, I've been lax in those two areas, but on a motorcycle, I'm very self-conscious of how easily ankles can snap and jackets can ride up.

Safe riding, everyone!

The base CO here said it's not needed during the day. It's up to the individual commanders.
Yeah, it's prob the samd Cdr that requires me to wear so much reflective gear when I do PT that we all look like a bunch of aliens running in the dark.
