• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I took my new SE5 out for its first extended ride and after about 100Km we stopped for a break, the RPM's seemed a little high initially but settled down after burping the throttle, while we were standing chatting I heard a clunk from the Spyder and when I looked it had selected 1st gear on its own?

I'm taking it for its first service on Tuesday, and to get the squeaky brakes fixed.

Has anyone experienced this before.

I thought on the SE5 that you had to use the paddle shift to upshift as the transmission wouldn't do it on its own. :hun: It's supposed to only downshift on its own. :dontknow:

No I definately didn't hit the paddle, we were actually standing about 3 feet away from it when it happened. Its a good job that I had the parking bake applied as there was a Harley and an M109 parked in front of me.

Yes mine does it frequently when i first start it and then i put it back into neutral; it never seems to lurch forward though. I never worry about it for that reason.

That's a "First" from all I have read. You were chatting while the Spyder was running? When unattended, I turn off our Spyder. Unattended as in not sitting on it. Thankfully nothing happened, but I would let the dealer know.

I always start mine and walk away......have a quick smoke, put my jacket and helmet on. Go in the house to get cell phone, kiss my wife goodbye.

Take the right precautions (like the parking brake) there should be no need to worry.

Yesterday, after I parked my :spyder2: in the garage, put it in nuetral, set the parking brake, and after I moved the handlebars to straighten my wheels I saw it jump from nuetral to first. That was a new one for me.
Should I be worried?:dontknow:

Only if it happens repeatedly. Don't worry about once. It might just have not quite been in the neutral notch, or your foot (or hand) could have bumped the shifter.

I had a new one on sunday. When I put it in reverse it took off like a hot rocket. The only way to stop it was put brake on. I then put it in 1st it did same thing. It kept doing this anytime I stop at red lights or stop signs. I usally have my foot on or near brake but never had to hold down to keep it from going.
