• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Reverse freeway pegs

When I ordered my 2014 RT Ltd. from Pitbull I asked asked them to install some freeway pegs for my long ride home. I really liked what they installed, but the pegs were pointed away from the bike and were too far away from the body of the bike. They made me feel like I was doing the splits. Time for some hillbilly engineering. I removed the chevron peg and turned it around to pointed it back toward the bike (using the same riser bracket). Then I bought black anodized aluminum risers (1.5" diameter and length) and bored them out to accept the 1/2" through bolt. The below pic is what ended up with. Now they are closer to the body of the bike and keep my legs tight to the body.

Awesome Idea!!!

That looks great. Been meaning to get highway pegs but, like you, was worried about the position. Great Mod of a Great Farkle.

Hope you don't mind if that copied.

pegs

I like what you did, but what brand of pegs are they? Now my wheels are turning for my own take on this.

I too was wondering who the manufacturer is. I figured Pitbull would install Lamont's NBV pegs, but they put these on instead. I love the design. The bolt to the footboard. Can anyone tell me who makes these??

Well done..!!

think you got them just where you want them and they came out great..congrats..!! :2thumbs: see some already working on your idea..:clap:

I like the idea of turning them around. I have short legs and want highway pegs, but need them higher and closer than they usually mount. I might get these brackets and use a flat peg for more comfort on the bottom of my foot.

i have mine the regular way because i have long legs, but if i needed the foot brake in addition to the hand brake all i need to do is lift my right heel and press the brake

Here is a better link to the standoffs that I used to complete this project. Never mind the picture on the Grainger website, it makes them look really long. I think they use the same picture for all the various sizes. As far as boring them out goes, I just used a drill press with a good vise and a rag to hold them in place. The anodized finish is very durable, so no worries there. Just a good 1/2" drill bit and you can bore through the aluminum in no time.
