• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mels' Monster Garage Wheelchair Rack

I am picking up a SE5 by 1 May 2009 in Belleville MI (too many bad experiences with the dealership in Maumee Oh), but with the loss of my right leg due to MRSA, I need a wheelchair rack to carry that with me. I had a Tilt-n-Tote rack for a car/truck's trailer hitch, but no way to get from the back of the vehicle to the driver's door after loading the chair. My son and I drove the 90 minutes from Toledo with the rack to see if the guys could rig something without re-inventing the wheel. Other folks I had talked to had this depressing, "gee, I don't know" manner:gaah:. We met Jimmy, his 2 associates, his wife, 2 kids and 2 dogs at the shop. Within a few minutes of brainstorming, they figured out a simple way to mount it at a 90 degree angle from one of their hitches. Furthermore, they think they can have it well in time to install on the roadster's delivery day:2thumbs:. The "can-do" attitude couldn't have been better. He said he had several other inquiries, but I guess I was the first at his door.

Assuming all goes well, I will post some photos in 2 weeks. :D Color me a very happy camper;)

I'd love to see a pic of the rack when you get it. I've got a friend who wants a Spyder, but also needs a wheel chair rack.

Nice to have a Can-Am and meet folks with a Can-Do attitude!!! :clap:I'm sure there are other Spyder owners now and in the future that will be interested in your wheel chair carrier.....might want to post pictures, etc. on the Spyder Mod's part of the Forum..

Enjoy your new ride/freedom..:2thumbs:

Good deal. I've met Jimmy and he's a nice guy. I think for what you're doing his setup should work well. I personally wouldn't use his hitch for towing an actual trailer - but many have done so without problems. I just prefer a hitch that isn't hooked to the swingarm.

It's great that you'll be able to get back on a bike! You're in for some real fun! Congrats!

Same here. He's a heck of a nice guy and pretty excited about working with the Spyder.
