• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Taking The Spyder Fishing

Great idea - in fact I just had somebody stop ans ask questions about my :spyder2: and he said he really liked the look and he would love to get one but he was worried about being able to use it to go fishing. I remember seeing a psot this past weekend where someone had attached a fishing pole to his handle on the rear seat.

I told him to go buy a :spyder2: and secure the pole - enjoy fishing twice as much. :2thumbs::clap:

RAM (The guys that make the GPS mounts) also have mounts for Fishing rods. Here is a link: http://www.ram-mount.com/EmptyPages/Fishing/FreshWaterFishing/tabid/1633/Default.aspx a nice added advantage is that you can use the mount on a boat or on the shore, just get a second ball mount base.

I'm here in MD and we can eat the rockfish again...however, I'm not sure I want anything out of the bay...

My favorite fish at this time is the black bass...cooks up even more nicely than the red snapper...yum! Hard to get up here...think they come from Florida waters?

Grill it whole with slits cut into it...fill the slits with garlic, rub the skin with olive oil, and put lemon in the body cavity...along with some white wine...tough to beat...
i would not eat fish caught this close to shore but i do bring fishes back from channel islands.
black sea bass we catch here are like 40-100 pounds but illegal to keep them AND they have to be alive when you release them or you face heavy fine:dontknow:

I'am with you BJT the ronco pocket fisherman. has anyone actually ever owned one on here and did it work. :roflblack:

Yes, I have a Ronco pocket fisherman - I keep it in my Quad - we get way out in the mountains and I throw a line out into streams/lakes every chance I get.
How does it work? Great! I can cast out a long way and drop the bait/spinner where I am aiming. I have caught alot of fish with it a couple biggies - you need to use your arms more to add flex for a larger fish - I plan on taking it in the Spyder this summer up to the lakes in the Sierra.

They must work cuz they still sell them after about 30 years. :D Do a Google search on "Ronco", "pocket fisherman" or "Popeil pocket fisherman", etc. and you'll find them.

Yeah I just did thanks. I also found on Cabelas ones that are like four piece rods that brink down to less then 20" pieces I think I will do that and then its a little more like fishing.. And man its like 60 here cant wait..
