Ok keep this in mind, a plug is only a quick temporary repair. For car tires TIA & RMA both state in order to repair a tire you
need to remove tire from the wheel, inspect the injury & then do your repair. For runflat & mc tires i would only do a combi
patch, that is a plug patch in one. I understand when riding if i got a nail i would do a plug but first chance i have i would
replace with a permanent repair. In the video they mention AAA stating that the 16penny nail is the most common, well i
just did a spot that will be aired on CBS news in a few weeks along with rob sinclair from AAA. My shop demonstrated a
proper tire repair as done with a combi patch. I have worked with AAA corporate for over 20 years(that's why i wrote stuff
on the nitrogen forum) and they asked me to do the spot because they know i am an expert & very cautious on tire & wheel repair.
I have chimed in many times about tire & wheel stuff with many of you probably blowing it off, well to tell you the truth I
don't care, I do what I know is right & never force others to do my recommendations. If you come to my shop & you don't want
us to do it the right way I will turn you away. I will not be the cause of your accident but I won't lose any sleep if something happened & you knew better or were just to cheap to do it right.
I have been following the tire repair laws in NYS since 2011 & found out yesterday our politicians are even dumber then I
previously believed. NYS no longer gives a damn about tire safety but that will not change the way I do things.
My expertise is tire-wheel & tpms I know absolutely nothing about mechanical & don't touch my :spyder2: or car because I
prefer to have it done right.
