North Carolina has the Castle Doctrine. It should be noted that the Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground are similar but not the same. Castle Doctrines vary by state. If someone breaks into my house and attacks me or a member of my family, I can use deadly force. Note that deadly force is not necessarily the use of a firearm. However, if that individual does not attack or threaten bodily harm but has intent to steal something, the use of deadly force is not authorized. The Castle Doctrine also includes my vehicles or any other place I am rightfully inhabiting. Wikipedia has a synopsis of state laws regarding retreat or defend.
Hey Bruiser...no disrespect intended but didn't you state in an earlier post that the thread had descended into a discussion about carrying and it should stop or you would close the thread down? Did I miss something?
