Honda GoldWing Reverse Trike - Spyder RT Competition?

I just came across this reverse trike conversion kit for the GoldWing. It seems pretty interesting and I bet it will give the Spyder competition from the GoldWing crowd. I like the idea of Can-Am having competition because it will keep them on the ball - lack of competition is bad. My initial thoughts are that it is not as visually appealing as the RT and I am surprised about the lack of (or non-existent) frunk space. Thoughts?

Not new...

been around a while now. You are right it would be RT competition but has not made a dent. Does not have the features, price and it really looks like a goldwing with two front wheels added to the front. Too much like a motorcycle. It will have a following for sure...:dontknow:

I sold my 2005 GoldWing and bought a 2014 Can Am Spyder... so I am a little familiar with both... GoldWing has LOTS more power... engine is MUCH quieter & smoother... after putting about 1000 miles on my 2014 RT ... I think the ride of a GoldWing is better than my Spyder.. I like the idea of a 3 wheeler.. & from what I have noticed... BRP parts & service & upkeep are more expensive than Honda Goldwing.....at this time I am reserving the rest of my opinions until I log more miles on my new ride... time will tell..

They had one of these at Lake George (Spyderquest) a few weeks ago and it drew a fair amount of attention. Did nothing for me
but it sure made people talk when they saw it.

image.jpgThis is the one from SpyderQuest! Still looks like a kit! But it is nice. Still does not look as cool as a spyder!

Onlya handful, less then 100 to brought to America. Just a couple dealers for these and many Honda dealers will not even work on regular trike conversions. I would think, the Gold Wing reverse would be even less effective then now.
I still have this thing about Company making the one half and Company B making the other half. Iasked a trike conversion shop about keeping ABS on tike conversions. He said, some can be and others can not. Whatever that means.
I am very happy with my 2010 RT. Would like a 2014, but doubts how long I will be able to ride. 79 in a couple weeks.
Just my thoughts

The operative here is "conversion". If you already have a wing, and are considering triking it, this would be a good option. I would be curious to see if Honda would honor a warrantee claim on one..??

No one can argue the quality of a Honda, but, as big as I am, I always felt the 1800 felt top heavy, and I can't see the conversion helping back road handling. I would love to ride on one day tho.... just to see.

I think that it's too soon to tell...
The basic design holds promise.
But, there currently are issues with the availability (Dealer Network), lack of V.S.S., and the lack of a warranty.
Time will tell. ;)

HONDA REVERSE TRIKE ?

IF YOU LOOK At THE FRONT TIRES, THEY ARE MUCH WIDER THAN THE SPYDERS, WOULDN'T THIS MAKE STEERING MORE DIFFICULT ????? I TRIED OUT A 2011 HARLEY STANDARD TRIKE BEFORE I PURCHASED MY 2011 SYDER RT AND THE HARLEY STEERING WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT [ I HAVE HEARD HARLEY HAS IMPROVED THE STEERING FOR 2014 BUT, I DIDN'T WANT TO SPEND 42,000 FOR A HARLEY !!!!! I SHOULD ADD I HAVE A BAD RIGHT SHOULDER [ FROM A 2 WHEEL ACCIDENT ] I LOVE MY SPYDER [VIPER RED ] AND GET COMPLIMENTS EVERY WHERE I GO !!!!!

Cool.. :2thumbs: If you get one; let me know, and I'll work out a weekend ride to your neck of the woods!
I'd LOVE to see one; up close and personal.

From what I saw, 15k for the kit + install, paint to match...not counting a 30k bike to put it on.....WOW...AND, the company voids the warranty if it isn't installed by a pro...

Hannigan has had that kit available since about 2004 or so.. they actually had built one they took to shows triked in the front and back..
Used to own dealership built hundreds of trikes,, never did a front end one

I don't want to mislead you Bob, but at the moment, I am not in the market for a replacement. I have put a ton of money into my 2013 RT and I may be in the minority here, but it is running flawlessly and my wife and I have have zero complaints with it - heat included. However, when the time comes to replace it, at the moment, I'll be going to the 1330, BUT I love the fact that there is another option out there. It's like buying a car. You know what you want, but for due diligence, you check out the competition.
