• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

In the past month and a half I have had 3 situations after stopping and turning off my 2012 rt, I have been greeted with a "brake failure" idiot light.

No, I don't ride the brake, and all 3 times I was getting back on after fueling up.

Anyone else having this issue?

Check brake fluid there is a switch in side each reservoir, pull code from bike.

Dropped off at the local dealer. Looking like I'm, by chance, hitting the switch within the cycle-up period. Mechanic came out, asked a lot of questions and then showed me he could duplicate it. Hopefully I can pick the spyder up tomorrow. I'll have to modify my startup sequence

I just went through the same thing with my 2012 RT. Fluid was fine as was the switch. Tech downloaded the latest firmware and "recalibrated the system" and the problem BRAKE FAILURE warning light is gone. ...Don

Since the initial post, happened 4 more times. Each time when getting on the spyder after getting petrol. Now back in the shop, where the tech could semi duplicate the issue. They are waiting on sensors and brake cable, that I know of.

Will post more when I get it back

Picked the spyder back up 9 days ago, when they replaced the following ; brake cable, park brake rear pulley spring, and the cable pulley.

Dropped off essays ago with the same issue. Now awaiting master cylinder replacement

Will keep updated

Going on 2 months in and out of the shop. They have a "case" started with BRP, so they want to keep the spyder. No loaner, and limited information being passed my way. They want to be sure that they "fix" this issue before releasing the spyder back to me.

Just getting frustrated with no spyder during riding season.

I,m not going to your dealer

I had that problem twice. Intermittent Brake failure light. Took it to the dealer. Cost me $50 bucks to get brake fluid added. Mostly Tech time. Second time, I just added a teaspoon fo brake fluid. It seem that the sensor in the master cylinder is extremely sensitive to fluid levels. By reading many responses to this particular problem it's a mfg problem with the sensor. I believe there's a fix that resets the code. Also your brakes may be wearing faster and that would reduce the brake level do to the extra travel of the brake piston. Be sure your brake pads are not worn too much.

To reset the code turn SW to on, push down the brake to the first click then lower more to activate the 2 click turn off for 30 sec it will be gone if problem is fixed and to put up codes push the 2 upper buttons and push in the turn signal SW all at the same time. The code might be c1282.The 3 buttons are mode+set+turn signal cancel

My wife threw this code multiple times in 2010 when new, if you apply the parking brake while holding the brake pedal down such as on a unlevel parking lot with the bike running , as the parking brake applies the pedal will pressure will fall and especially if the bike rolls at all , making the computer sense the pressure drop throwing a major brake failure code, having this cleared a couple times we figured out what was causing it. To stop simply kill the engine before applying the parking brake , have never had this again. Wife got hers RTs in jan.5 2010 were told was the first sold in Texas, we were guinnea pigs, learning a lot the hard way, hope this helps.

My Brake Failure light came on when we left from Vermont Teddy Bear. It would come on then go out. It happened several times on our way to Progreesive in Lake George. They checked my Spyder out. They found that the brake fluid in one reservoir was low while the other was full. They bled one and filled the other and have not had another brake failure light since.

The "master" tech claims he has looked at all of that
