• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Towing the Spyder-On a Trailer

According to the book. I released the parking brake, tied down all three wheels. Used towels under the straps going over the wheels. The book then stops! :dontknow: I know to set the parking brake. What about the tranny?:dontknow: I have an SE6. The book doesn't say anything. :hun: Thanks, Tom. :trike:

Transmission in Neutral... I only use two straps (ft & rear), but I use a covered trailer. Bike never moves an inch.

I do the front wheels with cam release straps, with the brake on, then release it, use a ratchet strap on the back, and reset the brake.

I just did my shakedown run with it in neutral. Bike didn't move, straps tight. Tom :trike:

I'VE POSTED THIS A FEW TIMES BEFORE

.....I bought a single "RACHET STRAP " WITH CLEETS on-line for $19.95.....It goes over the rear tire and fastens to the floor of the trailer front and rear of tire ..............It touches NOTHING but the tire ....so no scuffs , no scratches and I can put it on in less than 10 minutes ....In PA. my trailer hit the pole at the toll booth and ripped the entire HITCH off the truck..( with the trl. ).....The Spyder on the trailer didn't move ....and all this for a Whopping $ 19.95................E-Bay .....Discountramps.com....................Mikeguyver

Tom,
With the ESSIE; everything is disconneced whenever the bike isn't running. Try it sometime. Shut it off in gear, then release the parking brake without starting it up. You can roll it anywhere you can push it!
They switch back into neutral upon start-up. ;)

Have to agree..!!

with BLUEKNIGHT911. The wheel locks are great but for the money and keeping the trailer versitile the ratcheting tiedowns are great. I would leave brakes off and in neutral...

There's no harm to be had by setting the brake...
It could come in mighty handy, if the World turns pear-shaped on you! :yikes:

  ........Just like I posted .....Single strap ( rated at 3800 lbs.) over the rear tire only.........The RT never moved during the CRASH ...that was the ultimate torture test......We had towed both Spyders to SPYDERFEST and back with no problems .....Best $ 19.95 I may have ever spent.........My RSS was on my Pick-up ( a flatbed ) with a similar strap that I had made using the one I bought as a MODEL.......That didn't move in the accident either..............I take NO CREDIT for this IDEA.......I discovered it , because I saw the way ...U_HAUL ..attaches a car to their TOW DOLLY that they rent......Rachet straps over the tires and that's it ...............If it's good enough for U-HAUL a company that doesn't want to get ...SUED ....it's good enough for me.............And let me say this again NOTHING TOUCHES THE PAINT ON YOUR SPYDER .....NOTHING ..............I don't care how many soft towels or cushions you use between your tie downs and the PAINT .....NOTHING TOUCHING IS BETTER :gaah::gaah::gaah:...................Mikeguyver .....PS go on E-Bay to Discount ramps .com and you can see all the PICS you want and what they have to offer .....that's your best bet.....

It was my spider on back of mikes( Blueknight911) trailer, and it did not move because of the Ratchet Strap w/cleats that he had put on. The Ratchet Strap w/ cleats does not touch any paint, chrome. His trailer hit the pole at the toll booth in PA. ( made a correction) Sorry, We were on the way home from Spyderfest. Dee
