WD-40 Is definitely Not meant as a lubricator at all. Even if you buy it in the one gallon can at Canadian Tire.
My, but it sure does clean a bike chain awesome. But then you need to wipe it clean, and add a proper lubrication ingredient. One that will last. I use several for my various hobby and household needs.
3-In-1 professional SILICONE LUBRICANT Is a high performance lubrication safe on metal, rubber, woods and vinyl.

FLUID FILM, developed and perfected as an unparalleled rust and cortisone control system. Non-drying properties for superior lubrication. Once in place stays put, forming a continuous durable, protective barrier. Utilizes the unique molecular action from wool-wax, along with other corrosion inhibiting ingredients. There is one more I really like, a lot, but it's not really for the general public.
