• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ntsb phone call today

so i just got off the phone with the NTSB, the guy asked me questions about my 13 rt and i told him i sold it for a big loss because of the heat problem, i also told him about the money and work i put into it to try to eliminate the heat. he asked me what did i replace it with and when i told him a 14 rt he told me he would like to stop by my house next Wednesday to see my 14 and take heat readings on the bike, he is also seeing other spyder riders on that day to see their bikes so he can compare the heat readings. so i just thought i would let you know they are working on it

Can you tell him about the windshield arm breaking ?

I Loved my 2010 RT and I Love my 2014 RT. I can only imagine how betrayed the 2013 owners must feel by BRP's response. It's a shame that BRP didn't "do the right thing" from the very beginning. I too hope that they don't discontinue production but I do hope BRP learns a hard lesson and makes amends to those that lost so much money, time and peace of mind.

Sadly I don't think it's just 2013's that are the problem. My 2012 has serious gas fume and boiling gas issues.

Agreed. It seems to be a problem with most pre-14 Spyders to one degree (no pun intended) or another. My 08 GS had heat issues and would boil the gas on warm days, not even really all that hot either. In fact because of that and other reports here, I filed a report to the NTSB because that is a major safety problem. However, I never got any response back from them.

I'm sure the NTSB is going to check a wide variety of Spyder models and years under differing conditions before making any kind of finding. That's just good science.

2013 RT

I filed an NHTSA report today for my 2013 RT, I am only riding it early mornings or evening/night because of the heat problem which is very rare because of the heat/fire concerns so it just sits there looking pretty. I hope I can get some help from BRP but they have not been returning any of my e-mails.

I am on the Emailing list at NHTSA, I have made 2 complaints, and I have had no contact from them. You are one of the lucky ones. Give 'em both barrels, and maybe the rest of us who have filed complaints will be contacted as well. Could only help the cause.....

My 2012 RTS gives me a hot seat everytime I ride it for any dfistance. Can also feel the heat while going down the road coming out between glove box and the seat. Sure is roasting my nuts.

Just a clarification point, the NTSB and NHTSA are two very different government organizations and do very different things. Believe you are talking with NHTSA.

I have already filed our complainte a while back but never heard anything from them, email or phone call. Do they always respond?
