• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

WARNING -SPYDER RS SE5 2012 WARNING

The registered location for that phone number is San Diego, CA and not the same as the posted location of the person posting.
Could be his cell :dontknow: I live in SC but still have an Ohio area code on my cell ( so my poor relatives can call me on a local call).

OMG - you guys are killing me... where else would I find such entertainment at 10:40 in the evening? Thanks for the chuckle... Sue (who has a few more posts than 1, but not nearly as many as Bob Denman)

I am seriously trying to be a less cynical person...This is NOT helping me with that!

Hang in there. Enjoy the intermission entertainment.

I even came back later than usual to see if the OP had come back with some additional information.

Miracles can happen. :roflblack:

where the heck did you find that?

here is back at you

I've got a million of them. Drop one once-in-awhile. Not huge crowd pleasers, but interesting!

I confess I am in the same wagon. It's a shame that skepticism is so useful these days....

Me too! But we seem to be getting this song (with no dance) instead...

That is a real good choice at this time.:yes::yes:

IF you guys are right to what purpose would someone join 2 yrs ago and suddenly start to post now? I hear ya on the :spyder:but I cannot figure out why someone would 2yrs later pop in to waste our time :dontknow:

They do it Magdave!! I help run a Forum here in Aus, and it's a continual & never ending task to go thru all the new registrations & cull out the 'sleeper' registrations that are loaded up daily - they come from trolls & spammers who might load up just one username to use at some stage down track; or worse, a large number of registrations over a period (sometimes a bunch all together, sometimes just one or two registrations a day for a year or more!) and often they just sit there doing nothing, altho sometimes one of them kicks off trolling or spamming immediately, while others just sit there as a 'sleeper' for some months or years.... but then when they eventually start trolling &/or spamming they either look legit cos they've been around for a while; or the multiple registration type can just keep on hammering the site despite the 'original' troll/spammer getting banned or losing posting privileges!! Lose one registration, they just move onto the next & keep the ball rolling! We recently found that we had sleeper registrations that had been sitting there for almost 10 years without being triggered, only to eventually make their first post in a 'denial of service' attack when en-mass they tried to flood us with spam & posts that were intended to block all the legit users/readers from getting onto the Forum!!

So no matter how long a registration/user has been around without posting, or how long it's been since they made their last legit post, any & every poster is only as good as their most recent post, & if that post looks like it came from a troll/spammer, sounds like it came from a troll/spammer, smells like it came from a troll/spammer, chances are..... :sour:

And that goes doubly so when the 'suspect' troll has been around for a while without making a post at all, then out of the blue comes on & makes a 'controversial post' and then disappears - most of the time that pretty much confirms what they are, altho there might be the odd one or two that legitimately have a reason for that behaviour & for posting a bombshell & then not coming back on for days/weeks/months.... but I find it easier to apologise to that very tiny minority than it is to fix up the mess left by the far greater number who fit the profile! So if an old or new registration or poster does that sort of thing, or if a collection of new registrations or posters look like they fit the profile, they go...

WARNING -SPYDER SE5 2012 WARNING

Hey go easy on this guy I know what he is going through my 2012 RT SE5 Limited with 29,000 miles just went through the transmission problem. I had one transmission warning but when I pulled off the road it went away. I had them check it and they couldn't find anything so oh well off I went. I live a hour and half from my dealer so went to see them for a minor thing and entering town I down shifted to 4th but instead it went to neutral then transmission warnings, check engine light then it came back but did it off and on. The dealer (good techs) checked it out they got codes, P2806,U0259,**P0500,**P0730,P0902, P0903,P0973, P0977, U0100, U0122, U0155, and U1201. When I left a hour down a 75 mph highway then turn off it all started again. I had to keep pulling off the road and shutting down the unit. I would start up in gear then down shift itself every time. It got to the point the the gear display would show instead of 5th gear it would show "E" and BRP had no idea what it ment. They dealer said I had a bad shift controller. They contacted BRP and for almost 3 weeks with them and all those codes BRP wouldn't admit it was the shift controller or any other part? The dealer was so pissed they got the part, replaced it and gave the bike back to me. They said they would fight with BRP. Another person I know had the same problem and is still fighting with BRP to fix his bike. I went through this with BRP on many other equipment parts, turn signal (replaced and that one went bad), front tire almost wreaked me belt problem in tire, water pump leaking oil, (all in less then 5k miles), throttle body control, air pump, now this. Now this isn't counting within 600 miles it gave my wife burns to her right leg and heat stroke. She was wearing heavy MC boot and jeans but the heat from the front 2 ports along with the cat was being pulled back and up by the windshield hitting her boot and going up her jeans and also up to her head and helmet. That was 2 years ago and she still carries the scars and hasn't gotten over the heat stroke. Their reply was "Oh we don't have that problem" they sure as hell don't have our dry heat either. Oh about the remark about being between 3k an 4k that all depends on your air box. You are correct if you are talking about using the stock air box that leaks oil out the front right side. Don't have either of those problems with my air box. REJ:spyder2:

He gave us NOTHING to even begin to try and help him; you gave us error codes...

Did you notice that the OP did give an update yesterday afternoon, and removed his phone number? What difference does it make whether anyone believes him or not? If you believe him, try to help; if you don't, just ignore him.

I saw that...
When somebody seems to ask for help, and gives you nothing to work with after a couple of folks asking the same thing; it makes you start to wonder what's really going on... :dontknow:

I told the guy about this site. Someone told me about it after I got my 2012 Spyder RT SE5 Limited and wish I knew about this site before I got my Spyder. Had I known and read the blog I would have gotten a Goldwing trike instead. Now don't get me wrong I have fun with my Spyder when it isn't in the shop. I can understand if something breaks down you get it fixed but BRP when it does know what it's own codes mean does everything it can to get out of fixing their problem which leave me holding the bag pisses me off. It is like they are telling me "You bought it now it's your problem why you bothering us?".
Now he may have put it out in a manner that is hard to understand. I have met him and know his bike and it isn't anything to do with the way he rides it or keeps it. This is the 3rd time it broke down on him and they had replaced that part a year ago. He was on vacation riding with a friend out in Page, AZ (no mans land) when he got hit by a 50+ mph dust storm and if you have ever rode out here you know what I mean about our winds. That is when he lost his trans like mine did it went to nowhere land. BRP has a record of the problems with it including the replacement a year ago of that part. Because they don't know what the code is they don't want to replace the part again and are ignoring the fact that they had already replaced it once. The dealers around in AZ, NV, and NM don't want to accept them in as trades and buyers want them for nothing. Beleave me I have been trying to unload mine. The dealer is still trying to get BRP to replace the same part that went bad on mine. I was lucky that the dealer helped me and that I kept getting the same codes after they cleared them. We are not the only ones with these problems so I hope you don't join us by having them also. REJ:spyder2::banghead:

AZ,
Have him come on back, and tell us what codes he's been getting. :gaah:
We've got to have something to work with.
Without them; this is a COMPLETE waste of everybody's time...

Code

Thanks AZ Cowboy for having my back on this.
Here's the code the dealer gave me: P0706.
Bike still in the shop. But now I have 2 case numbers from BRP. But they still don't know what the code means or how to fix it. So, have at it!

On a Can am quad that is
P0706 Tran Range Sensor Circ Range/Perf
on the spyder it should be P0709 gear box position senor I think. :dontknow:

Spyder code P0706 = Gear Change Sequence Logic, EMC

Here is a thread that mentions it on a spyder but it IS tranny related

Here is what I believe to be a French Canadian site that has it too
