There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spearfish Canyon, Black Hills of South Dakota - Wow - Spectacular!

We were also in the Black Hills over the 4th. We were at our cabin, we are about 1 mile north of 3Forks on 385. We were sitting on our lower deck, which sits just above the highway. Saw lots of Spyders , but couldn't get anybody to wave at us! I must of looked like a crazed woman standing out there waving with both arms going whenever a Spyder went by!! Hoped some one would see us and stop up!! Glad you had a great weekend. The Black Hills is our favorite place to ride. The roads you listed are some of our favs. There is also Nemo Road, Vanocker Canyon, Neck Yoke to name a few. And yes the Hills are probably the greenest we have seen them for a few years.

Are you still out there (we are about 1 mile north of 3Forks on 385.)? Today's ryde, I waved at a white Spyder RT in that very location -- I don't think it was you, but thought I would ask! :D:dontknow:

That's one of the great benefits of riding in the Hills. Spyders just love this elevation and I frequently get over 40 mpg. Do watch out for the buffalo. Our Spyder was destroyed and I was banged up pretty good by a herd bull that didn't like the sound of the hindle exhaust. We give them a wide berth, it just isn't worth it. Enjoy your stay, this is a great place to ride.

:agree: I was a jeep driver for Custer State Game lodge buffalo and wildlife tours back in my college years (Graduated from SDSM&T in 1977 with a Mechanical Engineering Degree). We know the area well and enjoy the visits to my wife's side of the family in Rapid City. Someday, we may move back when in full retirement! Just gotta love that great MPG :2thumbs: Sorry to hear you were up close and personal with one of those buffalo! Hope you are all healed up from that both physically and mentally!!

We have had a great week of weather and missed the rain today with watching radar and working around it. Thoroughly enjoying our rydes out here! :ohyea::ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:

JLSpyder2012: We came home on Tuesday. My brother passed away Saturday so I will be going to Idaho for the memorial service this weekend. Hubby will be at the cabin this weekend cleaning up the downed trees from the pine beetles and last fall 's blizzard. He 'll have the Spyder. (Lava Bronze Rt Ltd.) Ours is the red cabin with the 2 decks.

So sorry to hear of your brother passing. Prayers for you and your family:pray::pray::pray:

We just got back from Spearfish Canyon yesterday via Nemo road and Vanocker Canyon (included a stop in Sturgis). What is the Neck Yoke :dontknow::dontknow:you described as I don't remember seeing that the several times we've rode that way. Great area....the second pic in my first post of this thread had a pic of Nemo Road (the rim rock and/or bluffs).

Sorry we missed seeing you and didn't wave if we passed your way! :yikes::yikes:

Neck Yoke is a great route that not everyone knows about. Take Hwy 16 south out of Rapid City. About 4-5 miles out of town you go down the BIG hill and Reptile Gardens is at the bottom. Make a LEFT turn and go until you hit the T in the road. Turn LEFT! Go until you hit the T in road and turn RIGHT. That will take you into Keystone. At the stop lite in Keystone, GO STRAIGHT across the road and continue all the way to Hill City. That road follows the railroad tracks of the old steam engine. I hate to put that info out there because it is one of my "hidden" favorites! :D Hope you all have a chance to enjoy it also!
