• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear tire mileage

Well..!!

your on the high side. That is good I got 19,800 miles but rode it down to the limit. Some have gotten more many less and the 2014 RT's close to nothing. I just put anither Kenda on lets see how it does...!!

I have a 2012RTS-SE5, I have 7,748 miles, and showing the first ware bars on my rear tire. Is this good or bad?

Should I try for 10k on tires before I put on new tires?

Deanna777:ohyea:

It all depends on how worn "your tires" are. I don't like riding on bald skins, so by the time my wear bars are starting to show some wear, its time for another new one.

We are currently watching the 2011 carefully. 13K miles so far, but the tire is "getting there."

At over 16,500 miles: Outstanding!.jpg

Dee,
The tires will become more prone to hydroplaning as the center tread wears down... If you ride much in the rain; keep that in mind!

So I should just keep an eye on the tires. Deanna777:ohyea:

:opps: only 7,000 mile, on my OEM... :opps:

A lot of tire wear depends on how you ride and how much air you carry. Jack rabbit starts each time you startup will surely cause the tire to wear quickly. Some states also use different and more abrasive materials to build there roads.

:agree:....Bob rest assured Dee's tires are fine .......the " WEAR BARS " she is referring to aren't the ' wear bars ", :lecturef_smilie: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:.......Mikeguyver

That's outstanding mileage from a stock Kenda. Of course, that all depends on how it looked at that mileage. :spyder:

2014 5400 miles. Just got back from the smokey mountains. 2120 miles in 7 days and no interstates. Rear tire is now junk. Darn twisties. Darn torque. Darn fun. Anybody know of a dual compound tire that will fit? I am looking at the Kumo right now.

Ok, I have just about 9k on my back tire. As I face the machine from the rear the right half of the tire is much more worn than the left side. Not much left as you can see from the pictures. I assume before I go to Sturgis this will need to be replaced....anyone think I can get another couple thousand out of this? I'm also assuming alignment must be off for this kind of wear?
