• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Communications Packages for the 2013 RT Limited

My wife and I both have the ST1 helmets and we were discussing getting the communications package. We are leaning toward the Blue Tooth package with the sena headsets. I know you can talk between rider and passanger but how may devices can you hook up to it at the same time? (GPS, Phone, IPOD) is it better than the CB set up and did they ever get the CB trouble fixed?

Communication

Good start with Sena....also get the Dongle....that will tie in all your entertainment .....the dongle allows you to blue tooth everything.....we didn't have it on our '13 , have it on our'14 its all the difference.... And yes you can tie your phone, iPod, GPS together........also put the dongle in the trunk...easier to switch on and off......as the dongle will drain dead if you don't switch off after riding.......:banghead:

:agree::agree: Sena is the way to go. We have it & love it.

SENA

 SENA :agree:

IF you do it yourself, use the rear trunk for the Bluetooth dongle as was mentioned in an earlier post. IF the dealer does it, tell him you want it that way -- much more convenient and much easier to install as well.

Here's a couple of pics of where I installed it so I can easily access the on/off switch (mounted in the rear trunk lid)....remember....if you get one, shut it off after each use! I've learned the hard way and found it "dead" when I want to use it....it didn't hurt it, but delayed us from hearing the music awhile! Now I don't forget as it's part of the routine.

First pic is bracket -- install with double stick tape on back and one small screw in the middle to hold it on - works great.
Second pic is with the Bluetooth dongle on it. Open the rear trunk and super easy access. Had it this way on my 2012 RT and now on my 2014 RT.

Hi, we have the Sena and love it. We Bluetooth phones, gps,, so get individual music, phone calls, I get the gps in mine and we intercom. The dealer wanted $ 350 to install the same set I bought on Amazon for $180 and five minutes to install. Just a thought..:coffee:

If you just want Bluetooth with phone, intercom, gps, etc. that works, but if you want to listen to your Spyder's radio, then you'll need the cable from Bluetooth dongle to radio.

I had bought the SENA SM10 Bluetooth transmitter from Amazon only to return it after I learned that BRP (in their infinite wisdom) would only sell me the cable with their kit which includes the transmitter! :yikes::yikes::yikes: Therefore, IF you want to tie into your Spyder's radio system (including your ipod), then you'll need the kit -- my BRP's "Bluetooth Dongle for Audio System" kit part number is 219400458. If you install this yourself to hook into the radio, it will take a little time as you need to remove some covers and connect the cable to the radio, then route your wiring to your selected location for your dongle (mine's in the rear trunk cover).

Maybe BRP changed it by now (to buy the cable separate) as I bought this system well over a year ago and transferred it from my 2012 when traded for the 2014. Still works great and enjoy our SENA system! :D:D:D:D
