• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT graphic kits

Hello all you knowledgeable folk.

My wife is considering a graphic kit. Someone told me that the 2014 body panels are wider to accommodate the wider triple engine over previous years. Looking at older Spyders it looks the same to me with the only difference being the refined fenders on the new s and limited 14's?

Can anyone who has had both confirm if the body is the same. Because ours is an rt base and has the regular fenders hopefully the designs for the older RT should work fine.

can anyone recommend a graphics company for these, have seen AMR and darkside studios, any others?

thanks
Nito

Sure..!!

go to the home page and check with our sponsors.."powersportswraps.com" they have the best selection and do all custom work as well. They can also confirm the sizes you refer to...

The front trunk area is wider to accommodate the twin radiators in the front. Don't worry Pete at Power wraps will get you the right size for your 2014.

Hi Nito,

I would be happy to help with your RT graphics project as I mentioned in our Email your 14 RT is different than prior years.
The 14 RT has a different front end in the lower air-dam area and the side panels near the fog lights are a bit different. Other than that the machine has the same panels as first generation RT's

Please let us know your project ideas and we will do what we can to help.

Keep in mine our new website launching Tomorrow: www.wrapmyspyder.com

Thanks guys for the referrals... We greatly appreciate your support.

With the graphics, is it possible to do this theme, in Magenta on the 2014 RTs bodywork?

Different from the White and Magenta Nemisis NXT, I have considered possibly going with a White with Red Gee Bee.

Just not sure how well the tips of the scallops will stay with daily use.

Any thoughts.

I like that pattern. Are you trying to have your Spyder match your Gee Bee?

Almost, but for the Spyder, I am leaning more towards the Nemisis with the Magenta.

Tough call, Pearl White alone is pretty sharp.

A set of Red "Gee Bee" scallops done in any red, Pearl, Candy or plain could work.

Magenta is a great trim color, was used a lot in the 90's, fell from popularity, but done correctly seems always classic.

Painting would be nice, but is a comitment, decals are good, if the scallop tips will stay stuck, and offers options for easy change later on.

Time will tell.

So, what I was also wanting to know is "do you have a Gee Bee?"

So, what I was also wanting to know is "do you have a Gee Bee?"

I caught it but was trying to avoid the real question...

Honestly, I do not have a Gee Bee at this time. If I wanted to build another airplane it would be a Nemisis. I have a few toys I work on for a Doctor friend.

1931 Great Lakes biplane with a Warner Super Scarab that we finished a couple years ago.

1981 Beechcraft B60b Duke, was planned for turbine upgrade, but the airplane sort of lost the mission. Still pretty tricked out and for sale.

Also have a Glastar I am trying to finish.

As for the Gee Bee, maybe when I retire, it can occupy my free time.

To slide the question back towards you, do you have a squadron you are involved with.

PK

To your question, "no." I grew up around general aviation and have a private license. My dad was the FBO here and that included buying a lot of planes, modifying/restoring and selling them. He and my uncle modified a lot of Beech Bonanzas over the years.

If you ever get a Gee Bee, I'd love to see it. Isn't that what Eddie Rickenbacher set a record in?

Edit: I just looked it up. It was Jimmy Doolittle!
