There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Right Turn Signals - Front and Back Stopped Working - Need Technical Assistance

Hello. I posted the following in the General Discussion Forum but I could still use some additional guidance from the Tech Types like NancyToys or Lamonster. Here's the scenario ( I have an 08 GS SM5):

My turn signals on the right side of my bike both front and back stopped working while I was on a benefit ride Sunday. The brake lights and all other lights are working fine. It's just my right side turn signals. Left side turn signals are fine. When I hit the Hazards they flash except for the turn signals. Checked the fuses and they are all okay. Reseated them just to make sure they were fitting snugly. The one anomaly is that when you hit the switch for the right turn signal if you listen very closely (no other outside noise) you can hear a high pitched almost chirping noise that you don't hear when hit the switch to the left. Pulled the Tupperware and it sounds like the noise may be coming from around the gas cap area but can't be sure. Not seeing any pinched wires.

Has anyone else run into a similar problem? Any thoughts? Where is the Turn Signal Modulator located? Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide me. I'm not real mechanically inclined but I have an excellent mechanic whom I hoping can save me a trip to the dealership.

Additional Information: Now I was told that the chirping sound I hear may be from a relay switch because I'm told that the spyders do not have a Turn signal Modulator - everything is in the cluster. Is that correct? I have LEDs in the front and the back. Now one thing that did happen recently is that I did have a Triple Play Installed that literally caught on fire. The casing for it actually melted. It wasn't a recent install. I had it installed for a year with no problems. I contacted Custom Dynamics and to make a long story short they replaced the Triple Play with their new version. I actually held on to the old one to make sure that we installed it correctly as the old one and that one failed also. Sent both units back to Custome Dynamic and they did inform me that both units failed on their bench and I'm still waiting resolution on that one.

Anyway with the triple play removed all the lights were working fine for over a week. The morning of my ride I performed a safety check and all lights were on and the turn signals were working. The right turn signals stopped working sometime during my ride. When you hit the right turn signal it shows up in the display. I also have a light kit tied in to my Givi V35 bag and that light won't flash either.

I'm hoping that someone can provide me with some additional troubleshotting ideas because right now I'm stumped. Thanks much!

You can take the turn signal switch off the handle bars and check for lose wire(s) or a bad connection. Because if the one side does not work and the other side does there is power to the switch and . I don't know how a triple play works, I read that other riders had problems with the triple play unit.

Thanks Mike - there's one we didn't think about checking.
