gee I wonder why Burg didnt think of that. UHaul and Ryder just probably doesnt know if the Spyder would fit and maybe Burg thought someone here would. And being the post was 1am in the morning, I am sure he wouldnt get an answer. But I guess he didnt here either

I think Spyder is 59.5 inches from outer edge of rim to rim. Be sure it will fit the U-Haul trailer by pre measuring. You will need their 6x12 open trailer.

M2Wild do you think that two spyders will fit on the U-haul 6x12 trailer.

I have a 10X12 storage for our SE5, so the answer would probably be NO. If you go to the SpyderRyders site, you can get all the techs on measurements, weight, etc. The Spyder is about around 9 feet long, by about 59" wide. You will need to get a safety measurement of several inches wider and longer on trailer. But in the end, it's your decision on what you think you can do, not ours.

They might fit if you put the rear halves side by side, sitting diagonally, fronts facing different directions. Probably more trouble than it's worth though.

The spyder is 105 inches long, just shy of 9 feet, and barely less than 5 feet wide. I'd be real careful about putting two of them on a 6 by 12, if one got a little loose, both would be damaged. By the book, the only way to tie a Spyder down is by the wheels. When I brought mine home, the smallest trailer U-haul had that it would fit in was a 6 by 12 double axle with no ramps, the one with ramps didn't have a wide enough tailgate opening. Hope this helps.

Did not realize that the 6x12 trailer does not no ramps, how did you get it onto the trailer.

If you are going to haul two Spyders at the same time, I'd get U-Hauls dual axel car hauler instead. I think that is 8x16. You don't need any rails on the side, just a 3 sets of good straps for each spyder.

To work around the ramp issue, find yourself a hill or dirt mount that will reach the edge of the trailer and back the trailer right up to it.

The U-Haul car trailer my son rented had no center, just rails on each side. No way to load a three wheeler on that, plus the ramp angles may be too severe, and the raised edges of the rails are likely to cause clearance issues. A flat bed car trailer would most certainly haul two.

Syder Haulin'

When I bought my Spider in December my buddy also bought one. We hauled them home on a 6'x16' landscaping trailer. We pulled the 1st one on and the 2nd backed on (back to back). They were just a little overlapping. The 4 foot gate was to steep so we lowered it and put ramps in place for the front tires and a 2"x 12" for the back tire to climb up on. I ran a couple of bolts through each ramp and 2"x12" to hold everything in place. Depending on the ramps you use you may not need the one for the back tire (2"x12"), with mine I did. Good Luck

The back end is pretty light. Once you get your front wheel onto the trailer, two people can grab onto the grab rail and lift the back end onto the trailer.

Thanks to all for your replies. It looks like it is more trouble to find the right trailer to for the spyder, I wanted a trailer to bring it home for the first day so I could find a large parking lot to do some test ride as I have not yet had the change to ride a spyder yet but it looks like I will have to bite the bullet and ride it home. The other reason for the trailer was myself and another spyder owner in my area was thinking of talking them both up to no magic up state NY to get some of there stuff installed and having it so soon I did not want to ride the almost 3 hours from NJ to NY to have them install what we want.

Be careful with this approach. The Spyder grab rail is just plastic and some have been broken. Better to grab on the swingarm.

What are you trying to say Scotty? Phat chics beware?:D

Burg ... most of the NMN stuff you can do yourself with a little time and electricial know how. Mostly common sense. Don't be afraid of it. I always find it to be easier once I took the panels off and expose the parts.

I wouldn't do that! I value my life. :) Seriously, at least one person has pulled up on a grab bar and it broke in their hand. Possibly damaged beforehand. Several reported damaged from trying to tie the Spyder down on a trailer that way.
