Wind is killing me

I am looking to replace the stock windshield on my 2012 RSS. The stock is not providing any protection unless I lay down and that is not very comfortable.

What did you replace yours with?

BRP has a couple of touring-sized ones available... and some side wind deflectors also! :thumbup:

I ride an 08 GS/RS and put the Madstad Robobracket system for the Can-Am Spyder RS.... Absolutely solved my wind issues... Riding last year on the highway at 95mph i'm as comfortable as I am at 25... its very adjustable in less than a minute. and I have 3 settings I've marked based on the riding im doing and it has been flawless.


I highly recommend it as I'm sure there are other windwhields as well, but this one works great for me. I'm 5'11"

Madstadt brackets with a BRP touring windshield. After spending some $2,000 addressing the issue, this seems to be as good as it gets with a fixed position windshield.

I have the original "touring" windshield for the GS/RS. Had to replace it with a barn door so the wife and I could talk to each other without shouting into the intercom. You can have mine for only $80 plus shipping. PM me if you are interested. Way better than the stock shield. :thumbup:

The wind is your friend... I'd swelter in my helmet if not for the wind blowing into the vents! UGhhh! I've only ridden down to about 38F though, and it was still ok but my fingers got a little too cold (even with thick gloves on)... I drive my truck if it's any colder or rainy though.

I put a 14" windshield on my RS, just because I liked the look better than the stock "thumbnail" shield.

hit snow flurries in two spots on the way back, and rain in milford! not the exact weather I had expected! and yes, the wind in the face was great!!:thumbup:

I've got one of those big monstrosity, ridiculous touring windshields that even goes out over your hands that I got thinking I might like it......nope. it's huge and not really my style...

The windshield was one of the first things to be changed on my GS and RS. At the time, BRP was pretty much it for taller versions that worked well. Have not needed to go there recently--but am guessing there should be some good aftermarket stuff available.

I believe the ones we bought were about $200. We then ended up with Corbin fairings--but that is another story. $1500 or so for them--if I remember correctly.

If I want to stay warm and dry I take the car, if I want the wind in my hair I take the bike. It's always been that way! Of all the bikes I've ever owned, the STS is only the second with a fairing and the other was a ZX6 sports bike which I sold very quickly as all I did with it was break speed-limits - me bad! 80 mph on a Buell feels just as quick as 150+ on faired-in bike and I like to feel the speed Currently, 80 on my STS scares the poo out of me!

On my GS I have the 25" BRP touring one + the air deflectors which keep my knees out of the wind.

I tried the Givi screen but it was not big enough.
