• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

low profile Powerlet outlet

Nicely done..!!

Looks great. Where did you put the passenger's plug in..? Or just a solo ryder... :2thumbs:

Where do you get the outlet? I have mine hanging out from under the seat and would like a permanent installation also.

I got it from Revzilla because I buy from them somewhat regularly, but you can get it directly from Powerlet also. I got the 48" kit: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/powerlet-low-profile-powerlet-socket-kit and had my dealership install it to a 10amp accessory fuse so that it's keyed. It also comes with a 15amp in-line fuse, so if you have someone else install it, make sure they put the in-line fuse where you can get to it. My dealership was pretty good about installing it. It took them about an hour (they only charged me for an hour), and they did it when they were doing other service so the tupperware was already off. They also put the in-line fuse where we should be able to get to it without tearing the all the tupperware off. If we open the frunk and take that black panel on the left-hand side, we should be able to get to the in-line fuse.

Love the low profile Powerlets. I have one on the front switches and one in the rear.

Now I have the gerbing heated gear but the plug looks like an RCA type of plug... Is this powerlet different than that as it looks like it from the pictures???

The outlet is kind of like a cigerette lighter outlet, only smaller and designed to handle the vibration of a motorcycle. If you go to the powerlet website and read about it, they'll describe it better than I can :)

You can get a bunch of different adapters for it. I got a powerlet to coaxial adapter for my heated gear, but they also have phone charger/gps/go-pro, etc adapters that you can plug into the powerlet outlet.

Gerbing sells to fit thier accessories

Go to the Gerbing site and look under accessories and batteries.

$40.

I have this plug mounted on the dash on the left side. It fits the wiring harness on most, if not all, of the heated clothes brands.

What brand is this? And where did you get it? I like the looks of this one compared to the gerbing one but not sure what the inside of the plug looks like from this picture.

Like Macca I installed the powerlet connectors in existing holes in the same spots. To clear the handle bars I am using a right angle plug.
