• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Power Commander and Auto tune Option

Folks,

I have a power commander V installed on my 2011 RS SE5 Spyder. The question should I spend the money for the autotune option ($339). What is the real benefit in performance or MPG with the auto option versus what I have now?

The Auto Tune Kit requires the installation of the “weld in” O2 sensor bung into the motorcycles exhaust because very few aftermarket exhausts come with a larger O2 sensor bung.


I have the stock O3 sensor installled but also have the O2 Modfied sensor in my tool box.

IMHO skip the autotune and buy an AFR gauge and tune it yourself. This way you will KNOW its tuned correctly and will also have the knowledge to tweak it and make it even better.

the auto tune takes all the guess work out of it not to mention the daily routine head ache associated with the constant AFR manual tuning.
auto tune works very well otherwise in wouldnt be on the market. I see them on ebay right now for about 200 clams.:thumbup:
yeah I have it on my spyder RT for some time now-pure awesomeness :firstplace: but then again its my side of the story.
 
I've got the dual channel AutoTune on my RT and the FI is now flawless. I went with it because Dyno Jet didn't have a base map for the PCV that matched my setup and I could not find a local tuning center. If you search, you can find it much cheaper than that. For the AT-300, I paid about $250. The single channel AT-200 sells for less.

:agree: I also use the auto tune. Very easy to setup and use...well worth the price. My Spyder runs so much better after adding it instead of just the powercommander

I was wondering about the 02 location also, do these devices replace the factory 02? If so, how does the factory computer get its input...

In general, the professional tunners I have read articles from recommend the single 02 sensor for our spyder RT's. Unless, someone really wants to get down to the nitty gritty of competition type tunning. Then the dual 02 is suggested.

The factory sensor stays in place. There are photos on this board that show proper placement of the PC sensor.

I believe the RT is different than the RS. The RT has one O2 sensor per header. When going with the AT-300 you just weld the O2 bung in place a few inches away from each stock O2 sensor, so that there are two sensors per header. This allows for a unique mapping for EACH cylinder. If going with the AT-200, you just put the one O2 sensor on either header and both cylinders will get the same mapping based on the readings from that sensor.
