• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

you had said you bought the best warranty, can you put it on hold or cancel it or is it worth keeping

Well, or at least appropriately played!

I can understand why Dany did not disclose the problem or the fix during his visit, and I also understand the frustration voiced here. There's no doubt that this had to be run "upstairs" and through "legal" before any explanation was forthcoming, especially if there was any chance it might indicate a systemic problem. In this case, whether we feel good about it or not, I believe BRP played their hand correctly.

Yes some clips and snaprings in certain applications have a definite proper side outward.

I am glad to hear the machine is fixed and on the road again.

As a person that has been in similar situations as the BRP Tech, it is understandable he was probably instructed not to disclose the information until reviewed by management. Sorry folks it does happen in many industries. Technicians accomplish the task, management decides how to handle the situation. There is no fault in this. As for the curtain, sometimes the onlookers can be more creative than some of these posts.

I was asked to accomplish a crash investigation as a subcontractor for the FAA. It was done in a closed hangar, with results noted by the FAA. I accomplished the hands on to sort out what happened to the landing gear. There were many upset people because I could not talk about it until after the FAA released their findings. This is one example, but it does happen.

I have followed SAPD911 and his oil leak and now this, but remain confused about the work accomplishment. He had the oil leak. It seemed his dealer accomplishing the work took a while and frustrated him to resolve the leak. This situation of the trans came about.

So am I to understand he bought the vehicle from one dealer. Had the oil leak repaired by a second dealer. Then the trans issue was accomplished at another dealer by BRP?

Glad it is repaired.

PK

Actually the oil leak was fixed at the dealer BRP worked at yesterday. The one in my hometown. My original dealer has been silent throughout all of this. Other than getting me a spyder cover at cost.

Yeah its fixed!

Boy what a crazy thread!

As a new Spyder owner (2013 RT-S) I am really pleased that BRP sent a tech out to fix this unusual problem. As someone else previously stated in this thread, it would have been far more helpful if BRP had just come out with the "root cause" and did not be so secretive. It did one thing...provided something for all of the readers on this forum to discuss. :chat:

After it is all said and done, I commend BRP and the OP's local dealer for their, quick and prompt customer service. These days many companies just don't know what "customer service" is or why it is important. In this case, I believe they were first rate and I applaud their desire to make the bike "right".:cheers:
