• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am looking at changing insurance company . I received a quote from a company called Markel . Has anyone dealt with company? If yes, would you recommend them? Their quote is half of what I am currently paying !

I'm paying 750 for a 2009 RS....if that helps in comparison. I have to carry a med rider for primary med coverage due to work.
I think it is high but...best I have found.

Markel is big...
If you contact your State's Insurance Department; they could tell you how well they play by the rules...
Happy Hunting!

I have Geico,$472 year. I've heard Dairyland had good rates. All depends on your ride, state and driving record.

Insurance Rates

Just remember...Your specific rate is based on the following:

1. Age
2. Credit Score
3. Motorcycle
4. Driving Record
5. Where you live ( city AND state)
6. Type of coverage
7. Insurance Company
8. Marital Status
9. Will the M/C be kept in a garage or out in the open
10. And one that most people don't think about...How long have you kept the same insurance company. (Do you hop from one company to another often)

* I probably have left out something, but these are the most common factors that insurance companies use to rate you....

Good luck & Ryde safe!

BTW....$252 per year for full coverage on my 2012 RT with Grange Insurance!

Dairyland coverage here on

our 13' Ltd. I always opt for $1,000 or higher deductible, which is also the case on our Spyder. PM me if you want to know our annual premium.

I have GEICO Insurance on my 2012RTS-SE5 Full coverage + Towing/Labor cost. I have a excellent Driving Record,+ MSF Course, Renewal, Anti-Theft Discounts.

Also, I have Winter storage ( From Oct. 1 to April 1) discount. I pay $ 718.00 twelve month premium. I have been with GEICO for 2 years. I have not filed any claims, and have been with GEICO F for 2 years.

I have had Markel since purchase of my RS SE5 in 2012. Someone on this sight recommended my annual cost is 339.00 with 500.00 deducible. This also included towing since I did not get the roadside assistance in my new purchase at the dealership. 50000/100000 on everything.

American Family Insurance underbid them by about 50.00 but they do not have towing so I went with Markel

Ended up going with AARP , Markell had limited roadside service ( 50 miles) . AARP was unlimited and trip interruptions !
Thanks again for all your input !
Spyderlovers are great people !!!!
