• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The wife is looking at the 2014 RTS auto, where to test ride & buy.

I'm feeling lucky

The sticker price is basically what the dealer stuck me with but I did get them to throw in the back rest and install it. That's $450. As far as ordering one I had to give a deposit of $1,000. It took from November to mid January before I got my new ride. Seems to me to be a disconnect between dealers and manufacture on delivery date. That is what I am getting from posts.

Pretty sure 2 new Spyders @ Ride Now on Ina rd are Rt Limited.

We just bought our Black RT-S SE5 at Performance East in NC. Based on what others have reported, we got a really good deal! First, no freight or set up charges, Second $1,200 under list. Just added local tax and title fees, for an out the door for $27,804. As of last Friday they had a Cognac and a White also.
Also, there doesn't appear to be any reason to the pre-order and get yours first idea. Many pre-orders are still waiting while the blind orders for the shop are coming in. Don't know why there isn't better customer support on this issue,

I can fully appreciate your thoughts behind getting the precise Spyder that your wife wants at the best possible price.
It's a sensible thing to do.
BUT I would also look at the bigger picture.
Your Spyder is going to need to be serviced and if any repairs are needed you are going to want to take it to a local dealer.
That's who I would be buying the new bike from. Even for a few hundred dollars more. Get your local guy on your side!
If you buy the bike locally and get your local dealer involved in all aspects of your Spyder ownership then the service that he
gives you will be the best that he knows how to give.
He will want your repeat custom and will make sure that his work is beyond reproach.
Just my tuppence worth!!

I understand this; however, I am 3-5 hrs. from any dealer anyway so I am looking at price first and so far I am at $3,000 from low to high. I think that's too much to think about the service first. All please post your $$$$ you spent on one so I have some info to go by as I try to talk the price down.
Thanks to all for what you have posted...

Are you sure it's "The Wife" that's looking... I bet you have an eye on it toooooo.

We went to the Phoenix bike show and the wife is now looking at the 2014 RTS auto, where can we test ride first and then buy one as we live in Yuma AZ but will go where we need to do it right.
any info please

I posted a lot of information about OTD price in one of your previous threads. IMO, the price you pay is only a part of your new relationship with a :spyder2:. Unless you are a good mechanic and are able to work on the somewhat sophisticated :ani29:, a good relationship with a servicing dealer is very important.

Some dealers, but not all, will hold the fact that you did not purchase from them, against you. We have heard of dealers refusing to service a :spyder2: that was not purchased from them. We have also heard of some dealers that will put you to the back of the line and service their "loyal customers" first. I do not know if this is the situation where you live--but it might be good to check it out.

I think you have gotten a good idea of what people are paying so now it is up to you to negotiate your best deal. As others have said having a good servicing dealer is one of the biggest steps to having an enjoyable Spyder experience. I have been lucky that I have had good dealers in both cities that I have lived in and even though I did not purchase my Spyders from either of them, they both took good care of me. I am purchasing my 2014 from my local dealer this time as I feel that they deserve that from me.

My Spyder was ordered with no money down and I have not had any conversations with them about price but I am confident that we will make a good deal with them. You should have more room to negotiate as you do not have a trade in. Good luck.
