• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Been meaning to ask this for a while.......

OK, we have taken enough gruff from the Sport Bike Section.

Thank you all.

Thanks to everyone who answered my query.....even the RT guys! You have to hand it to them, they only wanted to help me out.
Many people over the years have said that I need help....:roflblack:
It's quite comforting to know that the humble RS-S has something that the RT doesn't!!
(Even if it doesn't really work unless there's two of you!) I carry an LED torch in my jacket pocket anyway.

Off topic Alert!! ( It's my thread and I'll put what I want in it...so there!!)

I do think that when the guys who've upgraded to the 1330 triple RT's get them on a good long run
they're going to find that they're a fair bit quicker than the V-Twins were.
However I'm going to sit and wait before I jump onto that particular bandwagon because I think at some point
the 1330 is going to give way to the 1503!! That's right! For those of you that didn't know: Rotax make a 1503 triple
that is currently used in the latest SeaDoos....200odd bhp! Take a look:

Thanks again to you all.....it is appreciated.

Ooh!
That makes PERFECT sense!
Think how much safer the bike will be with all of that unnecessary weight removed from the cylinder walls..
It'll handle MUCH better!!
(Chevrolet engineers actually tried to use this argument to upper management, when they bored out the 390 to a 427... They didn't buy it! :D 0

Bob,

Are you sure that wasn't the 396? I know there was a Ford 390.

:opps: Yup! I don't know how I managed to mangle up that fabled number...
 May the gods of horsepower forgive my transgression...

The 1503 is a totally different motor than the 1330. The 1503 has been around since late 2002 and NA makes anywhere from 130-155hp depending on platform. Supercharged versions make up to 260hp stock and guys in the know, push them easily well over 300hp very reliably. It's an extremely well built motor that responds nicely to mods.

While it would be nice, I highly doubt your going to see the 1503 in the spyder.

That button ...

If it is the one I think you are asking about... I have one on mine and was told
that it is there so at night when you have the trunk lid up and push the button it
lights up the inside of the trunk... or bonnet if you will... is that the one?
Dave

The rear switch button on the right side handlebar cluster flashes the head light when the bike is switched off.

Is it supposed to do anything when the bike is running? If not, then what is it's intended purpose? :dontknow:

Drew, it was my little attempt to tease those RT lads.....I cannot imagine what the RT would be like with 200+bhp but the
word "unmanageable" comes to mind!! :roflblack:

With proper power then the RT might actually be able to get out of its own way!.....uh oh, I'm in trouble now...lol

I'm waiting till they put it in a RS. Totally manageable, just need to clutch a bit more when taking off. :)
