• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Future competition perhaps

Tha one has been around for a while now...
It looks pretty cool; I just don't see it as being anywhere beyond the "Wildest Dream" category yet.
Thanks!

I wish it weren't a side by side. I would consider it as a replacement to the spyder if it was more bike like.

Got a call from Polaris last night. Requested I test ride it for a month.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Not likely..!!

maybe for the T-Rex, Elio or the Morgan but that falls in my idea of a car. Caged strapped in with a steering wheel it's a car...great competition for them..!!

I am guessing that Polaris has other things on their mind since they just re-introduced the Indian line of motorcycles.

The vehicle is to much car for me and I would not want something like that as a replacement for the :spyder2:.

slingshot

I stopped in at a polaris dealer today, and was told about the polaris Slingshot, to be announced to the dealers on July 27, and to be available some time in the early fall.
There are drawings and a forum on the internet, and even describes the engine, drive train and some options. Rumored to get about 50 mpg.

The Slingshot is real and it will be available soon. I personally don't see it as Spyder competition and honestly I don't see Polaris selling a lot of these.

My dealer showed me a picture of it, not a drawing. Information will be out by August and they are to be on the market by the end of this year or early to mid '15.
Price is to start in the mid '20's to 30 thousand. I guess we will see if it really happens but the dealer is confident of it. I don't see it as being in the same market as the spyder. I'd say that there is a market for both. It is more car than motorcycle.

Looks like it has plenty of airflow, maybe it won't get too hot or boil gasoline in the tank. There is probably some mechanism to prevent overfilling of the gas tank.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Not for me, the sitting position will kill my back.
Also, did anyone notice the muffler location in the patent drawings?
Anything with a Muffler exhaust in front of the open air crew compartment is big time flawed, IMO.:yikes::yikes:

Anyway, sticking to my Spyder.

This will have more of a sport car driving feeling been so low on the ground. not like a bike at all.

i don't see competition to the Spyder either but for the T-Rex depending on price.
