• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil Leak

Before I had the new spring in stalled on my SE5, the engine was dry with no signs of an oil leak---now, after the new spring was installed to improve the shifting, I notice a couple small oil spots on the garage floor----it is a bit wet underneath on the left side---no really big leak, but wet. I'm wondering if it due to oil that was not cleaned up after they installed the spring. If that's the case, I'll not worry---but if this is a new "oil leak," I'm going to worry a bit and take it back to the boys at the garage and shift the worry to them. How can I open up the Spyder and check it out?? Everything is so compact and close to the floor------

I'm not sure if they drained and refilled the oil as part of the repair, but if they did check both plugs for tightness. I know I have read threads from other people that had to snug those plugs a bit, which I also had to do after my first oil change. Not hard to do, and a good place to start. Beyond that, hopefully someone else that has had the same repair done on their Spyder can offer some info.

You need to pull some panels and take a peek. with all the plastic "flooring" on the Spyder you could have more leakage than is showing.
But, as mentioned above it is prob. just a loose plug or bolt or 2.

Thanks, Guys----------

I'll try and check it out----can all the plastic underneath be taken off?

Get the side plastic off and get your hand in there and feel around if you can't see anything dripping... And if your not sure take a white rag when checking and the oil will show up on it when u wipe it...

Procedure for removing the panels is explained in the oil change procedure in the manual.
