• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RT Exhaust

I know they are just started to get out to customers, but I am wondering if anyone has put the Akropovic exhaust on their 2014 RT yet? We have a customer wanting to trade in his 2011 and get the 2014. He doesn't like the exhaust sound. Myself, I think the triple sounds great. He wants something louder and deeper. We are trying to find out if this will satisfy his aste. We went to order one just to try it and they are backordered until the end of February.

Thanks guys and gals,

Ben

Yes the triple does have it's own sound. I love the sound of a triple. My customer just wants more sound. He has been saying that on his 2011 RT for awhile as well. He didn't feel the Akropovic gave enough of a change in pitch in the 998. I was just wondering if it had any different effect on the new triple.

Time..!!

not many out there that have even reached first service. You may have to wait a bit to find someone that has already modified their 2014 exhaust system...see if you tube has anything...

Aftermarket Will Catch Up

Give it some time and the aftermarket exhaust companies will have some choices for those who want to hear their engines. I personally don't like mine to be too loud such as drowning out the stereo or causing ringing ears, even headaches. Been there-done that with some past motorcycles. My current ride, a 2012 Victory Cross Country (haven't owned a Spyder yet) has the D&D slip-ons and I'm hoping they will get something similar for the 2014 RT as I really like the quality and the deep but not loud sound. Before this year is over there will no doubt be a few choices in exhausts. P.S. we pass through Wapakoneta on I-75 to and from Troy Ohio where our daughter & son-in-law & grandson lives.

My Aunt and Uncle live in Troy. I hope you are right about the exhaust. The Spyder has been out for several years now and there should be more choices. We are surprised more companies haven't jumped on this yet.
