• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SCAM ALERT...

Just an FYI...

We received a phone call this evening from a "technician" from "Microsoft" saying he had some concerns about our computer. The wife told him "you don't have any concerns about our computer" and hung up. She doesn't take any stuff. Bottom line, it's a scam.

Being an IT tech, I tell the guy, to explain to me what's wrong, as I just worked on it! They usually hang up quick.

They have been calling me a lot, lately . . . twice, yesterday. I let them do their spiel, then, very nicely, I say: "I hope, that as we speak, a miserable scam artist just like you, is stealing money from your mother over the phone. Usually they just hang up, but I guess I got to one guy, as he started screaming obscenities at me! It felt good to have pissed one of them off!

Answering machine..!!

we have gotten to the point that if we don't recognize the name or number they can leave axmessage. Sadly includes some family..but calls are now coming from their cell phones and from surrounding areas. They will not leave a message and don't call back...

We usually don't answer 800 series numbers or numbers we don't recognize. But occasionally we'll do it just to see who's on the other end. One time I answered " Federal Bureau of Investigation..." before I could get anything else out they hung up. Another time I answered " Jim's junk yard and wh**e house", there was a silence then a click. Usually they don't call back. It backfired on me one time. There was one particular number that called a few times. I answered it with the Jim's wh**e spiel. It was a friend of mine I had been stationed with and hadn't heard from in several years. He located my number and called to see how I was doing. He said " you must be doing well for yourself, running a junk yard and wh**e house".

Me too

Been gettin these for years. The usually tell me they are calling about my computer. Then I ask them which one, they say your computer. I say I have three computers which one are you calling about. They hang up. Hey how long will it be before they start calling to help you with your Spyder:roflblack:

He also developed a "Flying apparition" around an R/C helicopter that is a real hoot! I'll see if I can dig up a video!
EDIT: FOUND IT!!

We got a lot about windows a while ago. One called and asked what kind of windows we had ? I wife said, glass. If they were anything else they would be a wall, not a window. Long silence, then click

How come I never get any of these fun calls? :gaah:
Oh; that's right. If I don't recognize the number , they can leave me a message! ;)

If it is an 800 number or an unknown number, I answer in Spanish. It is all kinds of funny when we have people over when it happens. I get the look and then "I didn't know you spoke Spanish too." That is because I don't.

I've done that in Hangul (Korean) . . . I'll keep telling them I don't speak English and asking them if they speak Korean . . . in Korean, followed by "Engreshi, no. Korea yes?" in a hesitant voice . . .
