• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

THANKS LAMONT....

Thanks!!!

I would like to thank Lamonster for taking the time to add a section to the forum for the dealer lists, and to break it down and post it by state. That took a lot of effort on our behalf, and is greatly appreciated!

Thanks again lamonster. I posted this in the other thread (California dealers) but I'll repeat it here...

One word of warning to those who plan on using this info while planning a long trip, the addresses on the lists may be outdated so you might want to verify at least the phone number before having to rely on the dealer list. The one incorrect listing I know of in Michigan is Great Lakes Powersports. They haven't been at that Fenton Road address in Burton for about a year. They moved to a bigger building at G3450 Miller Road in Flint Twp. According to my phone book, their phone number is still the same.

Very cool and handy for all of us.
However, where are they on this site?

Planning a trip from Michigan to ride the Natchez Trace this summer and as I plot the route, it is very helpful to see that there will be dealers withing range along almost the entire route. Like carrying spare relays, I hope that carrying the dealers list will make it unnecessary to use.

You must have read the article in a recent Road Runner magazine about the Trace. Looks like a nice ride, doesn't it? I was thinking about planning a ride there, too.

444 miles, almost the same as the Blue Ridge Parkway, but lower elevations and hotter. Long way to go for a good ride, but that's the point.

I rode the Trace in 2004 on my Kawasaki Concours. It is not a technically challenging road by any means, but very pretty and the whole area is rich in history. It is worth doing, for sure.

My wife and I went over on the BMW several years ago to ride the Trace from the south end. It was over the Thanksgiving holiday. The fall had been mild and the forecast was for more of the same even on the north end of the Trace. We were in our spring/fall gear. We got about 300 miles of it done and the temperature started to drop quickly. No problem, brought the electric vests along just in case. Added the rainsuit as an outer layer when the temps got below freezing. We were doing fine until two things happened. 1) My wife somehow lost the cord form her vest to the battery connection. (When mama's cold.....) and 2) It started to snow heavily. Had to point the BMW back to FL and live to fight another day. The Trace is very nice. The main dangers and twofold. 1) wildlife - keep your eyes open for all sorts of critters who have no restraint about sharing the road with you. (kind of like open range out west). 2) Boredom, When Bruce says the roads are not challenging, he is being kind. It is hard to stay alert when the road is straight for miles on end with little to look at but southern forest. It is beautiful, but it is not particulary stimulating.

Would make an excellent group ride idea - less intimidating than perhaps the Tail of the Dragon - very scenic and no commercialization - a truly beautiful drive for anyone who has not yet experienced this roadway - the plus is all the wonderful food offered in Mississippi also -
