• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

In the process of changing coolant went to remove drain and not only did the bolt come out, but the whole shootin match, threaded collar and all. Makes a significant hole in the radiator as well. I mean, it's as if that sucker was welded instead of threaded in. So, JB Weld to the rescue, the next coolant change will be pulling the lower hose, hope the neck doesn't come with it! In passing, has this happened to anyone else? Just curious, should be back on the road first AM with a fresh coolant fill.

Yeah..!!

have seen other posts to the effect. Seems the assembly was not attached very well. Don't know and haven't heard about the lower hose. But I believe the lower hose is the only place they used a reusable clamp...may mean something...!! :dontknow:

Yep, it's happened to others...see http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...-Radiator-Broke&highlight=Radiator+drain+plug.

Was it corroded? :nopic:What year and model of your:spyder2:? How many miles on it?

As for a pic, wanted to get the hole closed so the epoxy would set up in time to refill and test. No real corrosion, that is ,rust. looked like some flaky stuff like you would find in any other dirty coolant. As for other data, 2011 RTS about 44500 miles. So, only the second coolant change. First one was done early last year ..unrelated maintenance issue. Oh,the link provided is exactly what my situation looked like so there is a pic so to speak..
