• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just got home from a 300 mile weekend trip on my 2013 RT-S with 2000 miles on the odometer. Read about the RECALL and pulled the tupperware to find this, see attached pics. So now I wait for our gov't to make a decision, could be years of no riding...:gaah: HELP me BRP :yikes:

Sorry to see that. I just got my RT Ltd 3 weeks ago and I sure don't need a fire! Is that the exhaust pipe right in front of it? (Sorry, not familiar at all as to where/what is under the body panels yet.) I did put 428 miles on mine just getting it home from the dealer, so I'm hoping I have no melted B-C parts. This really needs to be addressed in the US, and fast!

also just how hot do you suppose the brake fluid is getting with this latest heat-related issue !?

Scotty had a good idea in another post. File a complaint with the NHTSA to get them to move their approval process along.

Yes that's the exhaust pipe on the right side...

 Sorry to see that!
FlamingoBabe has been battling the heat on her ST Limited. She and HotGlue have come up with an improved heatshield...
Perhaps you can talk to them and get some ideas so that your bike isn't shut down while waiting for a call...
Good Luck!

You don't need to wait for a recall. Get it back to the dealer and have it fixed. When the "fix" is approved, let them fix it again. Bad design should not equal BRP not fixing your bike. Your dealer can still get the "fix" parts and install them if BRP will let them.

As soon as the dealer opens tomorrow I'll be there with photos in hand. :agree:

Also filed COMPLAINT with NHTSA, :helpsmilie:

Given the location, I don't see how a heat shield could be a long term fix??? Short term - ie: to the end of the warranty period, but 30 to 50K miles??

make sure they replace the entire unit....bleed your brakes...the brake fluid when mine was replaced was black and gummy...looked like 10 year old brake fluid......please do not ride your bike...trailer it to dealer or have dealer pick it up...BRP needs to do that for you

That sucks, but glad you caught it!

My bike is new and I put a shield on it today after hearing all the latest news...
