• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How much torque?

Can someone tell me the torque specified for tightening the follow on an SM5? 1) Oil reservoir drain plug, 2) Engine oil drain plug, 3) Oil filter screws. I believe the Engine Oil drain plug is in the manual, can't find anything for the other 2. Thanks in advance for responses.

I assume the manual you refer to is the operator's guide. Check yours again. The wording on page 128 for the 2011, 126 for the 2012, and 129 for the 2013 RT Operator's Guide(s) specify the torque value is the same for both case and tank plugs which is 20 Nm in your part of the world.

If you are referring to the shop manual the values are as stated above for the case and tank. In the "Introduction" section of the manual for the 2011, 'cause that's the one I have, there is a sub-section that addresses "Tightening Torques" for the rest of the fasteners.

As for me and my SM5 I seat the oil filter cover and snug up the screws, plus a little. Never has leaked nor are they tight enough to even be near pulling the threads out the case. I do the same for drain plugs which I've replaced with those having a real hex head.
