There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Insurance?

I currently have State Farm and have since i purchased my spyder at $1444 a year. That was the cheapest at the time i purchased the spyder here in Memphis TN. Progressive quoted me $2600 a year back then and geico wanted $2400. Recently I did an online quote for Geico and it dropped down to around $1000 a year.

Keep your day job...I understand that dealing with health insurance companies can make you a bit whacky....but, you're going to ride without insurance? Aren't you the one who wanted to put an infant on the spyder?

Pay attention.
Didn't i mention,
I carry liability insurance?
Of this I give assurance.
I don't need your condescension.

And I thought my quote was expensive. With Progressive (up state NY) I pay $135 liability only for my Ninja 500. Price went to $175 when I added the Spyder. They told me I have the option to add collision coverage later (needed the ins to register the bike) and the prive will be pro-rated. I figure why should I pay for collision when the Spyder is wintering over in my basement. Collision coverage on the Spyder will bring the total price to around $500.

Quote

I appreciate all the responses to my inquiry. I'll definitely check out State Farm and others today. I also need to check AAA. I'm getting an education if nothing else.

Last night I filled out a rate request with AARP which is Foremost I believe. Their Quote came back this morning as:
(For exactly the same coverage that I currently have w/Progressive)

Bodily Injury Protection $25,000/50,000
Passenger Liability Included
Property Damage Coverage $25,000
Comp. - Deductible $1000 Limit: Actual Cash Value
Collision - Deductible $500 Limit: Actual Cash Value
Optional Equipment Limit: $3500
Towing and Roadside Assistance Limit: Reasonable Expense

Annual Premium: $473.00

What it looks like I'll be doing is, pay the additional $301 to Progressive to take my current policy until Sept. Then go with one of the other companies when it's time to renew.

That sounds good...AARP is solid...if you have military/gov't experience, USAA is very good as well...

USAA doesn't cover motorcyles. I have them for all my auto/home/banking and when i called to get coverage for the spyder they transfered me to progressive OUCH! So they outsource it and its supposed to be a discount but it was higher than when i called progressive on my own go figure.

USAA does have motorcycle coverage but it depends on what state whether they outsource or not. In Cali they don't outsource and they have started insuring more vets which opens the door for a few who couldn't get in based on their service dates.

Yes Sir, I did! What a blast. :2thumbs: :2excited:

I actually bought it Friday 1/2 and they delivered it Sat 1/3 AM. I should be picking up a Two Brothers Carbon Fiber exhaust either this evening or tomorrow. At least that's what Shane promised.

I tried to check USAA but since I'm not Active military and separated from the Army in 1983, their website said I wasn't eligable...

Thats good to know hopefully they will start covering all states themselves instead of outsourcing it.

I am an Allied agent, but get no special rate. I have $500,000 liability. $1000 Medical, 500,000 Uninsured and Underinsured, $500 deductible on comp and coll. for $280.12/year.

What are your stats?
Do live in a high density area/large metro area?
Inquiring minds and all that kind of jazz. :doorag:

Maybe not. There are a few things I want to do to "make it mine"
(Pipe, fog lights, Corbin or Russel seat, Grip Puppies (on the way), highway boards, taller windshield) but it'll take some time. We're in a recession 'ya know... :yikes:

I was going to get the silver one but the red one was calling my name. For some strange reason I would have guessed you had a Yellow one like the 'Zuki.

55 year old :yikes: male with clean driving record. Live in small town Iowa. Certainly not too exciting, but makes for cheap insurance.

There's definately advantages to living in a small town. If I lived less than 5 miles north I'd be in a "cheaper" county. :banghead:

Crotch Rocket?

I have been exchanging emails with the fine<?> people at Progressive County Mutual Insurance Company and the last guy finally told me why their rates on the Spyder were so high (along with GEICO and others). He told me "Naturally premiums are higher on a Sport Bike than on a cruiser or touring bike." :cus: was my response to that.

Is the :spyder: really a Crotch Rocket?
