• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Am I doing something wrong?

Finally after having my 2013 ST-S for a few weeks, I was able to take it out on a long ride. I diid a loop of just over 200 miles. I didn't get any nanny issues, or limp modes, not heat problems, and no fires. Just had about 5 hours of great riding. I did learn that sneezing while wearing a full face helmet is not a good thing!

Glad you had a good ride. And I know about the sneezing so I bought a modular. Now I just flip up the front. :roflblack:

As you have found, the incidence of problems or limp mode is way overblown...magnified in the way only the Internet can turn small problems into major disasters.. The problems that do get posted make it falsely appear that everyone is having a horrid time...creating needless worry. Most of us travel thousands upon thousands of miles with no major problems. Enjoy the Ryde!

Great to hear. I have just over 1400 miles on my Spyder (would be more, but the rain this summer has been way beyond normal!) And I have had no serious issues . . . I had a LOT of heat coming up around the seat latch, but fixed that with some aluminum duct tape (not pretty . . . but its under the seat!) and, on really hot days in heavy, stop and go traffic, my right foot gets warm . . . but I can live with that. This winter, I may appreciate it! To date, its just been FUN! My longest rides have only been 100 miles or so . . . I have been gradually extending them so I can figure out a comfortable daily limit before I plan a long trip. I'd like to ride to Vermont to visit a cousin who rides. Keep enjoying your Spyder!

To compliment our white RT-Limited, The Great White, yesterday we picked up a new 2013 ST-S. Drove it home from Mountain Motorsports in Kodak, TN in the pouring rain and had absolutely no problems. We ended up riding about 250 miles yesterday total and none of the overly stated problems reared their ugly head.

Great ride and very different from the RT.

Now the fun begins of making it OUR ride by adding the necessary farkles. Love the ST-S.

Carl

That is SO true. It's interesting that most people come to the internet and these forums and post only when they have problems, are not happy, or feel the need to complain. Not many people come to post when they have no issues and are just enjoying the ride....
However, that is super common with just about all forums.

Being on car forums for 6 years now I have to say that that is very very very true. :)
