• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A Good Day; A Bad Day...

Sonny-Boy smacked a deer early this morning, while coming home from work...
The body shop is backed up a couple of weeks, so it's going to be the best part of a Month before his Fiesta is pounded back straight again...
So I loaned him my Truck...:gaah:
That leaves me with just the Spyder as my mode of transportation...
I'm starting to feel a lot better right about now!! :D:yes::ohyea::yes:

Good thing bad thing..!!

Good thing is more ryding time..
Good thing the sun shines most about now..
Good thing family was not injured..

Okay...other than the damaged Fiesta and the deer, not much in the bad thing column...:roflblack:

:agree: There is good and bad here. Mostly good though.

Just some bruises to his pride...
He's actually a pretty careful driver; I keep hoping that he'll get himself into a financial position where a bike of his own can be a possibility.

Glad to hear it was not serious. Just tell him to work harder to avoid dears! I would hate to hit one on a spyder!

Bob

We've had a fair amount of Spyder-Deer events in here; they seem to universally work out in favor of the Spyder... :spyder2:
But I'd also rather not test it out either!

Sounds like he wasn't hurt....................at least I hope so! I've taken two deer over the years with new cars.........................both times. :sour:

Sorry to hear about the fiesta, glad to hear your son is okay Bob. Just make sure you keep the rubber down and the shiny side up. And just for safety sake it probably wouldn't hurt for you to ride to Norwich this Sunday for lunch:D

Just sayin'............

He's heartsick over his little baby taking a hit...
He's put 60,000 trouble-free miles on, and the little sucker gets unbelievable fuel mileage...
He kept swearing to me that he was getting between 45, and 49 mpg...
I figured that he was full of :cus:
Then I drove the thing to Pocono, PA for the races last August; I got 48 mpg...
But it's not a car to pound down the highway at 75 mph all day long; his commute to work is a touch over 43 miles of some of the twistiest and most funs roads you can take a Spyder on! 50 mph tops.

Glad your boy wasn't hurt. Friend of mine picked up a new Camaro last yr. Had 300 miles on it when a deer decided it looked too nice and added several dents to the passenger side, then ran off.

He's actually feeling a bit better about this whole dark spell...
The repair shop took it apart and got the estimate faxxed up to the Company in record time, and then he did enough repair work to it so that it could be used...
Sonny-Boy has himself a "Duct-Tape Special", but it's a professionally done job of taping, so it actually is about a 50/50 car...
(Looks good at 50 feet going 50 mph!)
Sohe's happy enough that he'll be patient until a slot opens up in the body shop work area for it...

It's not against the law to hit them with a car; but it IS impractical!
I told him that the Fiesta was much too heavy of a caliber to use; he ruined a lot of good meat! :roflblack:

Ouch!
And Rob; glood to hear from you! I hope that all is well at your end of the World! :2thumbs:

All's well over here... I thought I seen Randy's trailer/camper at alpine lake campground 2 weeks ago. But there was a Chevy parked next to it. even seen a yellow RS only a few miles away..

Glad he wasn't hurt ! Deer strikes are dangerous and very often result in injury to the driver/passengers. Even though the car is damaged it could have been a LOT worse!
