• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Took the grille cover off the the speaker and installed an outlet. Now do I need to remove the tupperware again to run my wiring to the battery or is there a better way ( couldn't get the wires down the backbone)? :gaah::dontknow:?

Try removing the back seat rest. You can feed things into the speaker hosing this way. You might have to loosen the screws for the speaker box.

Removing the left side tupperware is the easiest way. You need to do it to hook up to a power source (preferably the battery or a power block, anyway.

I have it on the right side of the dash, I thought that there was a way to go straight down the backbone. hmmmm. So your say go thriugh the rear speaker housing?

Even if I put the outlet on the right side? Which I've already done.

Try what I said. Removing the 3 screws holding on the back seat gives you a lot to look at and route.

NOTE: As you unscrew the seat bolts DO NOT push in hard on them or you can lose the nuts inside the seat. Just loosen them and then unscrew them without pushing in on them.

Then if you remove the screws inside the trunk holding the speaker box on, you can pull it away enough to get wires to route inside. In order to remove the speaker box completely, I have had to remove the rear Tupperware wrap just below the trunk which is kind of a pain. But again loosening the screws in the trunk holding the speaker box, it does allow enough movement to run things. I have done it myself when I did my DIY SM10 install leading to the trunk and from the radio (under the right side passenger arm handle).

Easy to fish the wire across behind the steering column in front of the glovebox, and then down the left side, where the battery terminals are. Once you get the tupperware off you will see, or pull your speaker grill again. Mine feeds up the left to the left Powerlet outlet, then across to feed the right. You could also run down the right then cross over to the left behind the gas tank, but that requires taking the panels off both sides.

I've another outlet coming, so when it gets here I'll take them both down the left side fuse them both and connect them with a spare battery tender plug.

Thanks

No matter how you fish or route the wire, tupperware has to come off to hook it up properly. You also need to get attached to a good ground and you'll need tupperware off to do that as well. Taking the tupperware off is not that big of a deal. After the second or third time, you won't even have to look at the manual. In the 15 months I've had the RT Limited I have taken most of the tupperware off so many time I couldn't begin to count. It's all been off at least once. When you start taking off the stuff under the tupperware is when it gets interesting. :2thumbs:

In fact, I'd recommend (after the weather turns colder) stripping down your Spyder just to have a look at how things are put together. It's also a good time to tighten and replace screws and bolts that have come loose or fallen off. You can bet on finding some of them loose and missing.
