• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 RSS sway bar vs Bajaron sway bar?

Orange monster

I know the 2013 RSS got a new larger sway bar than previous years so is there a big improvement in handling when swapping to the Baja sway bar or is it just a minor or no improvement for us? I know I have read the ST and RT benefit greatly from this mod but don't want to spend the money if the 2013 RSS stock bar is as good as the Baja bar. Thanks!

Well I just looked at his post and it doesn't look like he has a sway bar for the 2013 RSS, is this because the stock bar was improved and is very close in performance to the one he sells?

This has nothing to do with your question but did you paint your Spyder orange? I am pretty sure that is a color that none of the Spyder models come in. Sorry to get off track.

I want to be up front here. Yes, I enjoy selling stuff and yes, like everyone else I do try to promote my products. But I am certainly not here to sell ice cubes to Eskimos. I don't like stuff that doesn't work and I assume everyone else is of the same mind. Not looking for any credit, just letting everyone know.

I honestly thought the Ron-Bar would be dead for 2013 because of the extensive re-engineering done by BRP (great job by the way). I thought, maybe a bar for the RT series but certainly not for the RS/ST models because BRP was offering an upgrade bar at a very good price.

But when I received requests from some RSS owners asking for a bar upgrade, I promised that I would look into it. Some had gotten used to the Ron-Bar upgrade on their previous Spyder and some just wanted better handling.

The short answer that evolved is that my custom bar makes a big difference on the 2013 RSS. One of my test pilots is a 2013 RSS owner for this very reason. I wanted to know, for sure, if my bar would help the RSS. If not, I would not make a bar for any of the non-RT's because I can't compete with BRP on price.

Then, to get a better idea of what the RSS bar upgrade did, we put the RSS bar on an ST (without the Fox shocks).

My RSS test pilot was thrilled with the amount of improvement and we were surprised and at the lack of improvement achieved in the ST with just the RSS bar upgrade. Don't get me wrong, the RSS bar does improve handling, but it appears that most of the handling improvement from the BRP upgrade package comes from the Fox shocks and not the bar.

So are you going to offer a bar for us RSS owners that would match up well with the revised geometry and the Fox shocks? I didn't see one on your link when I looked earlier?

I have one on the way. The holiday last week has slowed delivery and I don't have a definite date yet. But I am shooting for sometime this week, just like I thought I'd have them ready last week! Production timetables do not seem to be an exact science, if you know what I mean.

Believe me, I'd have the wife in the basement fabbing these up for me if that would work! (It's a good thing my kind and gracious, loving wife NEVER visits Spyderlovers.com! :yikes:)

If Bob's wife and my wife ever got together it would cost both of us greatly!
