• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2012 RTS SE5 stalling and still in first gear

This is starting to bother me some as I just purchased a 2012 RTS SE5 about 2 months ago and this bike will stall for no reason. Today me and wife went for a ride and we stopped for gas after about an hour drive and were pulling up to the gas pumps and the bike just stalls. I'm still in first gear when the bike stalls, of course. I turn the key off and filled up the gas tank. Now is when the problem comes up. When I turn the key back on, i'm still in first gear and the damn bike won't start cause I'm not in neutral. I step on the brake in hopes that the bike will go into neutral but no luck. Turn the key back off and on several times and still won't start. By this time I'm really getting pissed. I don't really know what I did to correct the situation but finally after 10 minutes got the bike in neutral and it started. At this point I said the hell with riding this thing and just headed home which completely ruined and nice afternoon of riding. Will somebody please tell me what the proper procedure, step by step, if your bike stalls and its still in first gear, on how to get it in neutral. I'm beginning to think that I made a terrible mistake in buying the bike as it has too many querks that a person has to learn about the bike to get it to operate satisfactory. This bike only has about 600 miles on it so far.

howed i get going again?

I also had issues with stalling for about the first 200 miles ,seemed to clear itself. when you shut off or stallout in gear you simply have to hold your foot on the brake while you restart the bike will go back to neutral itself when it starts. go ahead and feel stupid I did TWICE before I figured it out, guess thiers something to be said for reading the manual first!!!!!!

Asking here for help is good

But, do not stop there. The problem needs to be reported to your dealer. This will do two things. It will allow them the opportunity to make a correction, while also creating a record of the problem you have reported. Then, if the dealer fails in their attempt to fix it, you can in good faith report the problem to BRP and hopefully gain their involvement. Today you have a spyder that died at a gas pump, tomorrow it could be somewhere far less convenient. See your dealer.

me too

I stalled while going in reverse. It was the beginning of my unsure relationship with my new RTS, but it only did it once and never again (knock on wood), its a querky machine that's for sure. I finally reached my 600 miles mark so I can make an appointment for service and have them make some adjustments and let them know about the stalling it did to me....interesting this is happening to others.

:agree: One more thing, the instructions for manually getting it back into neutral are in your owner's manual...and the wrench is in your toolkit.
