• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Russell Day Long seat is here!!

My husband installed it for me and everything. Now I have to ride to work today, just to try it out. I am hoping for one clear day this weekend to test it out on the long haul. I also got some red stitching as an accent and I think it looks nice. Here are some photos. I don't expect everyone to like it but so far, I like the look and the feel. I'll know more after some riding.

Looks very nice. Hope you like it as much as i love my seat, nothing like a comfy seat.

Have you had to leave it in rainy/snowy conditions? I was looking on their site and noticed that the seat is not 100% waterproof even with the waterproof cover and that if leaving it sitting in a rain shower where water can puddle up that it can get into the seat and soak into the foam.

I'm interested in getting one of these but after reading that i'm a bit concerned since here in the midsouth rain showers popup randomly with no warning quite often and i really don't want to have to take my seat off for a couple days to let the water drain out of it as they state will need to be done on the website.

No I haven't had to do that yet but i did buy the raincover. I think with that cover or if you had some other cover, you will be fine, especially if you scothguarded the rain cover to make it more permanently rain proof.

All seats that have stiched tops will leak. Punching those holes with a needle seems to have that effect on the cover. LOL Deb is right, the only way to maintain a waterproof seat is with a cover. A short shower won't drench most seats, although the "dished" ones like the RDL and Corbin certainly will hold water and get your fanny wet in even a light rain. Waterproof overpants help a lot, but are seldom perfect. You're going to have to evaluate how you ride, what you wear, and how you want to deal with the situation. I doubt there is a perfect solution.
