I am in the market for a trailer, love the RT 622. I just bought a 2013 ST LTD, trailer hitch to be installed later. 2013 hitch will be 4wire square, if I buy an older RT 622 will it be hard to change the wiring on it to work with the new square 4 wire?

I think if you had an older RT 622 and had the harness that fit the trailer and had the other end a pig tail, you could easily adapt to the square four pin connector. I just went with a Bushtec since I could not locate any 622 trailers close by. If you can find a RT 622 either used or discounted a bit, I would go with the RT 622. Since the four pin square connectors are very in-expensive I would find one now. Nobody had any locally and so I ordered online and they told me a got the last one. Probably ton out there but just need to locate them.

Piece of cake! Splice in a mating sqaure-4 connector after you identify the trailer wires you need. You can eithe keep the old connector so you have both, or cut off and substitute the new one. The color codes won't match, so hook things up temporarily before you connect permanently, and try each function. On a 2010 trailer you will not use the orignal turn signals...the brake lights will become double function. On the 2011/2012 trailers the brake and turn lights are combined...just the connector is different.
