• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vendors at the Owner's Event

Vendors at the owners event has been talked about at Spyderfest & facebook. Some spyder lovers will not be attending the owners event because the vendors aren't allowed (or so I've been told). I do believe that some vendors will be in the "area" just not at the "event" itself. If this is so, I wish "our" vendors would chime in here and let everyone know that you will be there and where you could be found. Just saying.............:D

Vendors are not allowed, not because of BRP but because of Maggie Valley ordinace. But there have been ways around it before. Remember, this is a BRP event which they are paying for a dinner and gas (previous years we were given gas gift cards), so we just come and have fun. If vendors come down to sell their items, it's on their own terms. Besides, most are rYders like us so they would want to have fun like us (and with us as well). The purpose of the Owner's event is for BRP to give thanks to us the owners and I believe they don't need to organize a Vendor Village (that is what Spyderfest is for;)).

If those owners don't want to come to the Owner's event for that reason, it's their loss... JMHO

Bullant12 said it well....come for the fun and socializing...Maggie Valley has wonderful roads in the area

Would it be nice to have vendors at the Owner's Event... Sure! And from what I hear there are a few who may sneak into the mix. But it's like going to a card game and dictating which cards you're going to get... It ain't gonna happen. Instead, it's all about playing the hand you're dealt.

As stated above, there are several factors which make it tough on vendors. The biggest one being Maggie Valley ordinances themselves. You can complain to the powers that be in Maggie Valley if you like. But from what I've heard, they really don't care what anyone else thinks about the way they run their community. And, after all, it is a free country and it is their town.

So, the choices are few and quite simple. Come and have a great time with those of us who will be there:yes:, or get grumpy and stay away:mad: (those who just can't make it not included). But whichever way you go, please be happy with your decision! :ohyea:

Spread the JOY! :D

I don't know about anyone else but I can find lots of ways to spend money for farkles and things without the temptations of a "Vendor Village". I appreciate the effort and money that BRP puts into the owners event, just to say thank you. This is a time to visit with old friends, meet new ones and enjoy the area. There is to much to see and do to spend time getting something new added to the bike.

Personally, I am really looking forward to seeing some folks I met last year and spending a day on the Blue Ridge Parkway... An extra special thanks goes out to Lamont and Chris for inviting all of us to invade their homestead.:clap::bowdown:

FYI......... you can buy any of those vendors products on Spyderlovers.com

Click on the home page and scroll down and you find everything that the vendors have there. If you want to see the product before you buy, just take a stroll around the Spyder parking lot/lots in Maggie Valley. Then when you get home follow above instructions.

Now that this is cleared up, see you all there !!!!!!!
