• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Secret Lab - keep it that way

Had a very productive morning at Doc Riversides' Secret Laboratory. He walked me through removing the frunk and tupperware panels for a couple of mods.

I won't take any credit for what was done. Doc installed a BajaRon Sway Bar and a Bump Skid while I watched and learned. He also pointed out a couple things the dealer should have done prior to delivery of the bike.

All I can say about the sway bar is - dayuhm. I noticed the difference riding across the yard. The county road by his place has a few curves that allowed me to solidify my first impressions. I suggested he get the county to raise the speed limit. The difference in cornering speed was very impressive.

Next step will be adding some Custom Dynamics goodies; followed by a set of HIDs for my nighttime work commutes.

Help

It is great that you have such good people to help you. Congrats on the mods!

Yes it is. I transitioned over from BMW where we had tech day get togethers. My concerns over the learning curve to maintain my own Spyder are being overcome by the goodness of the Spyder community.

I talked with Doc for the first time yesterday. What a nice and helpful guy. You are fortunate to live so close. BTW, the sway bar is a must and you will enjoy your ride even more.

That's Great..!!!!

Good to have help, a teacher and able to learn along the way..good luck with your future projects..!!

I have yet to get the pleasure of meeting Doc in person, but I've had a few communications back and forth at various times....and getting down to meet him and see the lab are high on my list of trips to take and people to meet!
Yup, Doc, you're 'good people' in my book!

Wish I lived closer to "the lab". I've conversed with Doc a few times about the KewlMetal air intake mod and agree, he is a great guy and will help you whenever and however he can.

What did he point out that the dealer should have done?

I was amazed at the difference the BajaRon sway bar made to my RT handling. As they say down in Arkansas SWEET!

My Spyder was a left over 2012 with 900 demo miles on it. It hasn't had the oil filter upgrade done, hence, maintenance schedule is 3000 vs 4600. At delivery, there was a big deal made of giving me the updated schedule which doesn't apply until the upgrade is finished. Would have been just my luck for something to break before 4600 and not be covered under warranty. It also needs alignment of the belt, no space between inside of the belt and rear sprocket.

There were also a couple of fairing screws and one bolt on the left foot peg mounting plate missing.

Thanks, mine is a 2012 and it had a couple of small issues with the factory worker that installed the left center panel he/she/it stripped one screw and broke one of the studs behind the tamper proof screws... my dealer promptly took care of it under warranty.
