• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Looking for a Room for SpyderFest

I am very late in getting things together to go to SpyderFest and saw that all the local hotels are sold out already. I need suggestions on any hotels that are in a reasonable distance to the event that might have a room for 2 adults and 1 child. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes sir, it has been way too long. I have had a lot going on and haven't been able to ryde my Spyder at all for long time now. Thanks to the pollen season it currently looks like an old barn find and is going to take some time to clean up. I may start a new thread later to show others what happens when you neglect your Spyder.

I'm at the La Quinta South in Springfield. I called them about a week ago and they are not booked up, in fact, they did not know anything about the event.

You might try calling the Comfort Inn. I thought I saw on here where they had some cancellations?!? It's worth a try...

Best Western and GreenStay Hotel has rooms I have been told in Springfield. On the map they are not on the same street as all the other hotels they are on S Glenstone Ave but seem only minutes away from the host Hotel they are other Hotels/Motel that may have space as well, if you call GreenStay tell them you are coming to Spyderfest they have rooms blocked also with a better rate.

I don't know about rooms but good to see you posting again. :doorag:

I agree Lamont. It sure is good to see you posting again. I do hope that all has worked out well for you.

We're staying at Microtel

The Microtel in Springfield had rooms the last I knew. That's where we are staying and I know at least a few others are staying there. It's always been a great chain to room with and we use them whenever we can. It's out about 8 or 9 miles from the host motel, but a lot cheaper too. We reserved our room for $41.60 a night. Their phone is 417-833-1500. Good luck!!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. After checking a few different places I was able to get a room at the Microtel. We can't make it there until Thursday, but will be happy to see a whole bunch of you again.

That is a nice looking Spyder you have there Chris, could almost make me consider an RT ... almost.

Thanks to everyone else for welcoming back to the family as well. :D

This is like old times. Glad you found a room...and glad you are active here again. Looking forward to your Resurrecting a Neglected Spyder tech special.

Hi Scotty, good to hear from you again as well. I am actually hoping I won't need to ask for your expert advice with my Spyder, but will find out once I start on it this weekend. Even though I have used a trickle charger from time to time over this period, there is a good chance my battery is toast at a minimum. Before I do anything I will need to remove the panels and open the air box to make sure there are no mice nests or chewed wires.

Yes, it has really been sitting that long.
