• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Spyder brings families together....

So cool how the spyder can bite ANYONE. It has no age or gender that it can not affect. My dad is searching hard right now for an RT for a good deal. I'm busting my tail to help him search online. He wants us to spend quality time together as Father and Son, and what better way than to do it on 2 Spyders...

I was on the fence of selling my baby, but now....NO WAY.....me and my dad riding together will be PRICLESS!

This thread may seem pointless, but I'm in a good mood right now...

Next stop will be Reggy.....LOL!

:2thumbs: I'm so glad to hear that your Dad wants to turn your enjoyment of the sport into a family activity! :2thumbs: :ohyea::yes::ohyea:

FATHER & SON

I HAVE A 2012 RT LIMITED, MY SON HAS A 2012 HARLEY ROAD GLIDE, AND SOME OF THE BEST TIMES WE HAVE ENJOYED IS RIDING TOGETHER AS WE DID YESTERDAY. HE WAS INSISTING THAT I GET A HARLEY TRIKE, BUT AFTER COMPARING BOTH MACHINES I FELT BETTER WITH THE SPYDER. HE IS NOW CONVINCED I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE. HAPPY MILES AND SMILES !!

That's Great..!!!!

Wish I could have had that with my Dad...make the best of it for it is priceless...!!

That moment you had yesterday will go with him the rest of his life. You sound like an awesome dad like mine!

Yes, I am jealous. My Dad gave me my love for motorcycles and I know he would love to ride with me if he were still here on earth, but trust me he is ALWAYS with me when I ride and I love it!

I can relate...My wife and I goth have RS's and I can tell you....I'd rather ride with her than anybody...We both love them, we communicate with each other with the Sena's when riding and go to see places we'd never even think about if we didn't have the Spyders....That's not even considering the wonderful people we've met because we all have the Spyders in common...Now that we're moving south...we'll be spending even more time riding together and looking forward to new adventures...

That's great. My wife says when the kids get older, she'll get a bike too. We have to take turns with ours hobbies so that one is always home to babysit. After I ride the spyder, I come home and switch to watch the kids so she can go do her favorite hobby.....shopping. LOL

Father and Sons

In this case I am the father and both of my sons have Harleys, one in Oregon and the other in Missouri. I considered a Harley trike but decided on the :spyder2:. The three of us have not been together for 20 years but this year we are all meeting up in Sturgis in August, priceless (actually quite pricey but you only live once). We can't wait :2excited:.

Take a TON of pics! That is indeed PRICELESS!

Mother & Daughter or Son is good too

Like quite a few others on this forum, my parents passed away years ago. BUT both of my kids ride Kawasaki's and I have been lucky enough to ride with both of them several times. We have a blast and they are rides I will never forget. On 4/21 my daughter is borrowing a Spyder and riding with me from Florida to Ozark, Mo. For Spyderfest. Now, how awesome is that!

My boyfriend and I ryde together anywhere we can. He has a Ninja 650 and I got a Spyder 3 weeks ago so I wouldn't be scared to ride (had a Ninja which is being sold :() just did not like the 2 wheels.

We have a blast. Already planning a trip to Smith Mountain Lake so I can show off my bike to his Dad who I am sure will want one!

With the little time we have together (he is always traveling out of country and around the US) it's pretty awesome to have something fun and exciting to do together when we can.

Now I've been bitten by my Spyder!!

You guys aren't kidding. I grew up riding with my dad, on snowmobiles. Before too long we will be riding our spyders together. Enjoy the time rides your father, as time is the only thing we cannot make more of.

Just sayin'............

I took up golf after leaving the Air Force. My dad had played for years, and just about all of his golf buddies had either passed away, or moved to warmer climates already. Since I was new to the game, he would take me out and give me pointers. That eventually turned into playing rounds on weekends, and in the afternoons when I got off work. Those memories are very special to me, since I left as a "kid" to join up - right out of High School, and at that point in every child's life where they know more than their parents... So when I moved back, I was married with 2 kids of my own, and the conversations we had on the course were some of our first "adult" conversations. After my dad passed away in '94, my mom gave me his set of clubs, which at the time were top of the line.

I've been to a golf course maybe 3 times since then.

If you're going to ride together, get a wireless comm system too... Those conversations will stick forever.

My brother came to visit us here in Texas from Washington...summer of 2010...I let him ride my Spyder....2 weeks later when he got home he owned a RS 2010 Spyder...last summer the 3 of us meet at Spyders in the Redwoods...went to Washington for my brother's son wedding...then 2 weeks traveling NW USA and Canada....he is hooked...he also now has my dual exhaust.....great to send time with family

Would love to do this with my daughter. I have a son and a daughter, but neither one cares to ride. I think this would be a trip of a lifetime! Hope you have a wonderful time and ryde safe.

That's a great idea Shelby. I have an RSS. I'm very ignorant to these headsets. Do I need to buy a special helmet? Is my bike compatible for it? What system is good?

I'm probably gonna have to research old threads, because I have never dealt with these before. I know absolutely nothing.....

I wish I could have rode with my dad before he passed. Hope he finds one soon and you guys can ride together.:doorag:
