• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

little vent holes in windshield

Alright all you gruru's  On the 2013 RT's you will find the windshield cut out matching the holes in the alum. windshield brackets. Both sides have a nice cutout, If this serves any good function I will take the dremal tool to mine, I cut the windshield down to fit me so it is not a big deal to cutout these holes to match the 2013 stock machines. Would it reduce Buffetting maybe, although I haven't noticed a lot of that on mine. (maybe because I cut 4 inches off the windshield) :yikes:.(this little suprise face is what my wife done when she walked into the garage and I was hovering over the Spyder with the Jig saw). She turned and ran.

I've also been keeping an eye on those new windshields in the accessory catalog...
Since I've added the Elkas; the decision will come down to which height model I need...

I have not seen them but I am getting the vented one at sypderfest. Also the new adjustable air wings.

These little holes down at the alum. brackets are standard on the 2013 Rt windshields, all new RT's have these holes in them.. This is not the optional "vented" windshield. :dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:

Well, I'll pose the question again about the standard holes in the windshield of the 2013 RT's . what is the benifit of these? I can't find any comments about them in the factory literature. As I mentioned in my first post, if they are a benifit, it would be easy for us to modify ours with a gig saw or dremel tool.

It DOES seem like an easy modification to make... ;)
If you've got the tools and talent anyway!

As soon as I find out if it helps anything, I'll cut mine out and take a picture of it. It must help with the air flow from under the windshield. It would bust up the air stream that comes up under the windshield and in turn may smooth out the air a little.:dontknow: I guess Lamont can fill us in.
