• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm surprised this tread is going on so long, Even the rough and tumble Harley forums, Close out gun treads
quick.

But have we decided that any discussion that involves a difference of opinion is now a "Political" one? :dontknow:

Everyone knows the answer to that is yes. There's just no way to have a discussion about anything anymore without someone yelling foul play. I used to really enjoy a good debate and still do. There used to a time when...at least in my world you could debate something vehemently and learn something in the process. Not so anymore. Now, a difference of opinion makes you evil and a person best left alone or destroyed. We're just plain too charged on everything anymore to even have a discussion. Most of us formulate our opinions based on what we see on the web or the opinions someone else spoon feeds us. We're just too lazy or busy as a nation to do our own fact checking, so everyone has their own set of facts.

I was at an event once, where there were a dozen or so protesters. The news media was all over them and interviewed each one as we watched. That night, every station reported 100s of protestors with video clips from every possible angle. Almost all interviews were aired. To this day, similar events bring "100s" of protesters. If you ask the attendees, they will all present the facts. If you ask the opposition, they too will present their facts. They only way to really know is to dig deep and no one really wants to, so we spend time slinging mud at each other, when we should be demanding truthfulness.

Pretty sad and why most of these off topic conversations turn from a learning experience to a hateful one.

As always Bob, you and I both know the Orbital Blue Spyder is the sexiest and the fastest. :D

Sure does seem like it is time we dropped all this B.S. and moved on to talking about Spyders! Where's Lamont and the hatchet?

The definition of "politics" is: The art or science of influencing people on a civic, or individual level, when there are more than two people involved, of, relating to, or dealing with the structure or affairs of government, or the state.

So if you thought it was anything less, or restricted only to party politics, well now you know.

Politics is something we're forced to live with almost every day in our lives and it can and does divide even the best of friends and family. There are some who feel it's necessary, for good or bad, to pervade every aspect of our lives with politics and will use any means available to them to make their opinions known.

This is why many wise forum owners and administrators have a strict no politics policy. Such is the case here, Lamont is a superb owner/administrator, one the very best, we all know that. This forum reflects his vision, and as a result it's one of the best in existence. We need to keep it that way. We come here to read, learn about, discuss, and enjoy our Spyders. Motorcycles for many are well known as a way to escape the difficulties and harsh realities of life, if only for a while. A most effective therapy and one we all need in one form or another. The majority of us certainly don't come here to debate guns or any other ugly politics, we come here to escape from all that, just for a while.

So can we please agree to keep the peace and take our politics elsewhere? There are many, many places on line and off where one can vent on any and all political issues if they need to, but please, not here. Please prevent Spyderlovers from becoming a political dumping ground, it's so much better than that. Can't we keep this about motorcycles as it was intended and declare this a politics free zone? Let's choose to stay friends, and for one tiny corner of the world let peace prevail.

So... based upon that definition; differences of opinion among more than two people at a time is now forbidden?

Get a grip...

'Differences of opinion as it relates to governmental affairs.'

Look I'm a gun owner and have been since I bought my first(with my own money) at age 12.

So, I'm not taking one side or the other.

What IS obvious is this conversation became POLITICAL when names associated with a particular side of the issue were used.

Hope you can see THAT for what it is.

Of course not Bob, that's merely your interpretation intentionally or unintentionally designed to provoke emotion to your insistence that we continue to discuss politics.

Please, it's time to just let it rest.

Another lively discussion down the drain.
