Mirror extensions and bushing removal

I am trying to install mirror extensions on my 09 GS. The instructions with the extensions say to remove the bolt holding the mirror and then put a tap or easy out in the plastic bushing to extract it. My bushing is steel, very hard steel. Any suggestions as to how to get that bushing out would be greatly appreciated.

You can try to use a drill with a bit one size larger than the hole of the bushing. A good die grinder can also help. Good luck and don't forget to use eye protection and safety precautionshyea:

Just buy a set...they come that way most of the time.
